50 years of like grown up jobs, so new...
I'm working directly with @Wikipedia, increasing my grant making, which already includes work with the @NewmarkJPlus CUNY journalism school for this effort.
Also, I'm funding an effort which has already shown success in breaking through all the bullshit to build an increasing audience.
Unfortunately, some very bad actors have figured out how to "flood the zone" with bullshit, including Search Engine Optimization, which has led to LLMs routinely lying to people.
People of good will need to fight that, for the good of the country.

50 years at work...
There's a lot of trustworthy journalism around, hard to do, with all the needed fact checking.. The Wikipedia editor community gets the job done on an ongoing basis, since they fix the stuff they get wrong.
Getting people to trust a media source is even harder. Harder than that is developing a big audience.

Fifty years ago, 27 September 1976, I entered the adult, grown up workforce, taking a job at IBM in south Florida.
I was working on a (doomed) mini-computer, the Series/1 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Se…). My only contribution was saying that we should work with AT&T Bell Labs to port Unix (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix) over. I couldn't sell the idea, nor could anyone else, and IBM lost a chance to dominate the computer industry.
Anyway, 50 years, that's motivated some big decisions regarding my philanthropy.
