During Saturday’s riots, police officers, firefighters and emergency services were violently attacked while trying to protect the cities and its people. Those on the front line are facing violence, instead of the respect and protection they deserve. Europe needs tougher penalties for anyone who attacks police officers and emergency services. The former Polish Prime Minister succeeds Adam Bielan, who has taken up the role of President of the European Conservatives and Reformists Party (ECR Party), which brings together conservative parties from across Europe. “Thank you for your trust. Our priority remains the consistent defence of Polish interests, the sovereignty of Member States, and the values on which Europe is built. We will continue to work actively to ensure strong representation of Polish interests in the European Parliament,” said @BeataSzydlo following her election.

🇷🇴 | SNAP ELECTIONS: The Democratic Return to the Vote of the European Citizens! What happens when a political establishment becomes isolated by elitism, detached from everyday realities of its citizens, and stagnant in its vision? Today, the Romanian AUR Delegation of the ECR Group hosted an international conference at the European Parliament to debate snap elections. Participants emphasised that elections remain the fundamental democratic instrument through which citizens can reaffirm their will, hold political leaders accountable and restore a country to the right course when the political class no longer reflects the mandate entrusted to it by the electorate.

🇻🇪 | Venezuela has the world’s largest oil reserves, yet years of Chávez and Maduro have left the country in economic ruin.
