On Thursday we relaunch Crypto.com's Onchain Wallet as Ult.
Ult uses blockchain as its backend but does not feel like your typical crypto wallet. We spent the last few months rebuilding Onchain Wallet to get there. No mnemonic phrase to write down, no gas to manage, no networks to switch between, no multiple variants of the same asset to fumble through.
Ult is the intersection of two trends.
The first is that tokenization is the fastest and most efficient way to distribute markets around the world. Non-custodial rails put us in 100+ countries on day one, and new inventory is a simple integration. Legacy brokers carry a cost in every market they enter. We've collapsed it, and the difference goes into the product.
The second is entertainment finance. More people in more countries are trading more often, and they expect a market to be open whenever they pick up their phone.

(1) We're naming our trading app @UltApp. Ult is short for Ultimate, the most powerful ability you unlock. Our goal is to give you the most powerful ability to trade: anything you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. Most of what's inside Ult doesn't run on @CronosNetwork, so the old name told traders the wrong thing of what's available in the app to trade.
(2) The first of more tokenomics discussions to come, starting with two proposals. 100% of Ult and Cronos Launch revenue goes toward buying and burning crypto-com-chain:native, and the community burn gets automated. This is just a start.
(3) The mandate for Cronos Labs is clear. Our focus is Ult and products that drive 100% of revenue to crypto-com-chain:native. Every other Cronos Labs project will be sunset over the coming months. Look to each project directly for its own communications.
(4) Some of what developers told us they want:
A clear path to be considered for listings at @cryptocom We're laying out the review eligibility. Token launchpad information comes out this week. Equal treatment for developers on other launchpads, and for tokens that already exist on Cronos Network. We want everyone to win.
Ease of building: familiar EVM tooling and a 24/7 settlement network with key integrations like a direct on/offramp with @cryptocom and Native USDC. Then distribution as Ult grows, for example through token listing and routing once execution quality improvements ship.

Today we publish the Cronos Labs strategy going forward. It sets out what we are building, how it connects to CRO, and where it goes from here.
The core: 100% of the revenue from Ult and Cronos Launch buys $CRO on the open market and burns it, subject to governance approval.
