We cont our fight to save our beautiful green space. We won one ground at our Judicial Review, but it was not enough to quash planning permission. Today we file our request to appeal. Our amazing KC is doing this at no cost to us, so we fight another day barnetpost.co.uk/finchley-grβ¦

Same tricks, different development. Fighting this stuff is like screaming into the void.

Dire - rules/policies can be bent/side stepped at will so planning approval can be given/retained! Laughable - system manipulated to allow tower blocks in non designated tall buildings areas, development in conservation/open spaces #HendonHub @BarnetCouncil

Huge thanks to the 2,500 people who signed our petition to save Hendon Library. Now, the library isn't just saved but will be refurbed for the community, thanks to the new Labour council.
Time for a new chapter: From Failure Back To "Gold Standard" ...
#HendonLibrarySaved
1/9: Hendon Library went from "gold standard" to failure in 7 years. How? Let's take a look...The much-loved, much-used Hendon Library, "flagship library of Barnet", created a sense of place, learning, history, civic pride & social unity. Children's libraries were invented here..
ALT In 1929 Eileen Colwell created the first ever children's section in a library right in Hendon. And she ran it here for forty years inspiring generations of kids, creating a magical space for young imaginations, inventing children's story-telling hours and even letting children help run the place. It's no surprise she inspired "Jackanory" and was invited to narrate 10 stories for the much-loved BBC show.

This is a very interesting JR: under the former Tory/Capita regime, a development approved on a community green space:
So tomorrow we head to the Royal Courts of Justice. Weβve been building to this point all year and we just want to say a huge thank you to the 318 people who donated towards the cause. We hope we win this for you all. finchleymemorialaction.org

There are many ways to improve the environment but adding cycle lanes in the manner you did which in fact caused queueing traffic/exhaust/fumes is not one of them. I can't drive but I do breathe on the fumes when I have to walk past the traffic.
