If, in ten years' time, it emerges covid took 5 IQ points off everyone, I wouldn't be surprised. The world's gone nuts.

This is such a revealing admission. But poor John doesn’t even realise it. My criticism of the BBC is that it has been captured by progressive groupthink. And, of course, if you’re part of that mindset, you’re not going to notice the problem. You’re not being made to broadcast things you fundamentally disagree with because, broadly speaking, you’re on the team. Well, I can tell you that I’ve been made to broadcast things I disagree with on many occasions. I’ve felt impotent fury at some of the news lines the BBC has carried, and continues to carry to this day - particularly on harmful gender ideology and identity politics. And don’t get me started on the BBC’s Covid coverage. Yet here is John effectively saying: “Well, I’ve never had to broadcast anything I disagreed with, so I don’t see a problem.” That is precisely the problem.
George Orwell worked for the BBC for 2 years and didn’t particularly enjoy it. But at the end he told his boss that no one had ever asked him to broadcast anything he didn’t believe. I’ve now worked for it for 60 years, and can honestly say exactly the same thing.

Just a few years ago, if anyone had suggested the entire British population would need to show a government ID to use the internet, they’d be laughed at and reminded that the UK is not a totalitarian state. Yet here we are….
Exclusive: Social media companies will be required to implement “hard checks” on people’s ages such as demanding passports or driving licences under plans to stop children from using their platforms The government is due to announce plans for a social media ban for under-16s in the coming weeks amid concerns that children are being exposed to harmful content Ministers want to take a harder line on age verification to ensure that children are not using the platforms after concerns that a similar social media ban in Australia has had little impact Under plans being considered by ministers, those using the sites will be required to submit their passports or driving licences or undergo credit checks to verify their age The Australian government admitted this year that more than 70 per cent of under-16s still had “some access” to platforms three months after the law changed in December 2025 Children reported that it was “easy” to circumvent the ban. They are only required to undergo basic screening — where users take a selfie and artificial intelligence estimates their age — to access platforms if they do not wish to upload official documents. In the most brazen cases, children were able to bypass the restrictions by drawing beards onto their faces Others have resorted to using virtual private networks (VPNs) to bypass checks by pretending they are based in another country, or pointing their phone’s camera at a screen showing an adult-looking face thetimes.com/article/9a7f374…

We are through the looking glass now. Police have put an entire British town under a Section 34 dispersal order (meaning they can even order residents to leave and not return) just so they can import a boat full of illegal immigrants.

🚨We are now in a place where a whole town gets locked down by the Government for a boat that has not arrived…. Gosport. Haslar Bridge shut. Coaches at Fort Blockhouse. Masks banned. A dispersal order on the entire town until 7am Tuesday. Anyone who wants to stand there is sent to a car park. If not you’re threatened with arrest.. The boat is still in French waters. The government will not even say this is the landing. Last time, they took the people to Dover.

This is Vivian Silver. She spent decades driving Palestinians from Gaza to the hospital, working tirelessly for peace. She spent a decade advocating for Gaza and raising awareness. On October 7th Hamas burned her alive and the western left stood up and cheered.
I don't like Israelis but they aren't rotten. Palestinians literally spent 10 years becoming close friends with Israeli peace activists near Gaza so that they could map out the towns and then gave the information to Hamas so on October 7th terrorists could rape and kill them

Many left leaning academics today believe it was a bunch of low IQ knuckle dragging proletarian thugs who brought the Nazis to power, when actually it was the very same class of people to which they belong. It wasn't just brute force but an intellectual movement.
Before the Nazis took power in 1933, the groups that leaned most strongly into Nazi or Nazi-adjacent ideology were university students (by far), professors, doctors, Protestant clergy, judges, and the nationalist press. Many teachers too, individually – not yet as a profession.

⚠️The 3rd in a series of terrifying incidents in Salisbury... ➡️Police are investigating after a mother pushing her 2YO and 6-month-old children in a double pushchair was chased by hooded "foreign" men in Bemerton Heath, Salisbury on Friday. The three men tried to get her to put the children in their car, and when she refused two men got out and chased her as she ran with the pushchair to a nearby Spar shop. The three men were described as "foreign" and wearing large black coats with their hoods up. The vehicle is described as a dark grey Volkswagen Polo-type car, with damage to the front. There's been two similar reported incidents in the Salisbury area last week! Police are urging doorbell, dashcam footage and info - and asking the public not to speculate. 🇬🇧 What the hell is happening in the UK?

Paglia's point is that women have been raised in a way that makes them naïve. They believe that the suburban, middle-class setting is the default condition of the world, and that the rights they have go with them anywhere, even to a foreign country or a bedroom during a drunken party. And this is the part I think about a lot... Written history is only about 2% of all human history. And this post-1945, "rules-based order" we're living in is only about 2% of written history. And written history comprises things like mountains of skulls, banners made from the skins of enemies, torture as part of the legal system, defiled corpses, and cities given to soldiers for three days of rape and plunder with no rules. The World Wars industrialized it. None of the progress of the 200 years of "enlightenment" prevented it, either. Keep in mind that Germany and Japan signed the Hague Conventions in 1899 and 1907. Paper rules burn easily. That's what makes the "oh, we've evolved past all of this" argument a load of nonsense. This postwar order, this illusory anomaly we've lived in for 80 years, was built by people who were scarred by two World Wars in 33 years. Orders are never permanent. Every previous order fell, and this one will too, except we'll have drones and AI to make even bigger mountains of skulls next time. And this is where Paglia's statements become more important because in a real breakdown, the people with weapons and the will to use them will control the food, fuel, and shelter first. You know who does that the most? Men. The tech level doesn't matter, either. It never has. From melee weapons, through missile weapons, to firearms, to drones, conflict has been the province of men. Testosterone and its resulting aggression reign supreme. They end up dominating everyone who doesn't have resources, and eventually you get stability. Do you know what's downstream from that? Patriarchy. That's the irony facing the women that Paglia's discussing here: what they despise the most is the only thing that will save them when this order is gone someday. If you don't believe me, then look at how many patriarchal societies still exist in the world today, or read about the sack of Berlin in 1945. Paglia is right: women should be treated as adults. And that includes women understanding what their rights are protected by.
