Absolutely correct but I’ve always disliked the asymmetry in this given that more can be used for countable AND uncountable things. 😊
Remember, ‘fewer’ is generally used when you’re talking about a smaller number of things that can be counted.
Use ‘more’ when you want to indicate a larger number.

These Quebec polling numbers are just insane. Why? Three reasons.
1. There are currently five parties with 10 per cent of the vote or more. That has only happened in two elections in Canada's history: the previous Quebec election, in 2022, and the 1997 federal election. Indeed, it's rare in any first past the post electoral system. It's never happened in the UK, Australia or New Zealand, for instance.
2. The two previous Canadian elections where this was the case, however, had a clear frontrunner. The CAQ led by 25 points in 2022, with 41 per cent of the vote. The Chretien Liberals won by 19 points in 1997 with 38.5 per cent of the vote. The Parti Québécois, by contrast, is on track to win with 29 per cent of the vote, just 7 points ahead of the Liberals and CAQ, who are essentially tied. There has never been an election in Canadian history where a party led the popular vote with less than 30 per cent of the vote. Again, there's never been an election in the UK, Australia or New Zealand where that was true, either.
3. But even that's not the most amazing part. The most amazing part is that the PQ, with just 29 per cent of the vote, is on the cusp of a majority, with a projected 62 seats out of the 64 required. Think of that. The country might be plunged into another separation referendum by the votes of fewer than 30 per cent of the electorate in a province with just 22 per cent of the population. Insane.
