As we step into a new year, we pause in gratitude and wonder.
MoonMars Museum — the first museum on the Moon — was founded by two women together with their communities, @paladinpunks & @VAVortex, and became a reality in 2025 at Mare Crisium, redefining what art, memory, and human legacy can be.
This first lunar exhibition, within the amazing metaverse designed by meta-architect 0xWolfgang on @oncyber, carries the voices of the global art community: The first @cryptopunks pair on the Moon, Nest by @MaryKuiper13 (previously exhibited on the International Space Station), the original blueprints of Paul van Hoeydonck’s Fallen Astronaut, alongside 3D art, photography, digital works, sculpture, pixel art — and even a children’s book.
🎇In 2026, we continue our journey to the lunar South Pole — the Nobile Region.
We are honored to bring @PlanckWallFella’s animation to the Moon, traveling on the rover in the @goLifeShip Pyramid, with tech partners @SPhotonix and PrintOptix. Also represented aboard @astrobotic Griffin -1 lunar lander through our partnership with Bruce Ha and the revolutionary Permanent Archive @Nano_Fiche.
To all artists, collaborators, communities, partners, friends, and fellow moonwalkers — thank you. This mission exists because of our imagination, trust, and belief in a future where art belongs everywhere, even on the Moon and beyond.

IN TWO DAYS, OUR MUSEUM WILL PASS IN FRONT OF THE SUN. 🌑☀️
On August 12, the Moon will cast its shadow across Earth in a total solar eclipse.
For a few extraordinary minutes, millions of people will look toward the world where MoonMars Museum now resides.
And there is history up there.
In 1971, Paul van Hoeydonck became the first artist to place an artwork on the Moon.
Today, his work is part of MoonMars Museum — creating a direct lineage from the first artwork on the Moon to the first museum on the Moon.
Our roots reach back to 1971.
On March 2, 2025, MoonMars Museum landed at Mare Crisium aboard Firefly’s Blue Ghost lunar lander.
47 artworks.
47 chromosomes.
The Mare Crisium Collection.
DNA of Humanity.
Human creativity, preserved on the lunar surface for generations to come.
And this is only the beginning.
MoonMars Museum is a multi-mission venture, carrying art, culture and human creativity beyond Earth — to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
So when the Moon moves across the Sun on August 12, look up.
Humanity has already left a little piece of its creative soul up there. 🌑✨

Never look at the Sun during an eclipse, you will damage your eyes — project it instead. ☀️🌑
A simple pinhole projector lets you watch the eclipse safely without looking directly at the Sun.
Turn your back to the Sun, let sunlight pass through a tiny hole in one piece of cardboard, and project the image onto another.
The farther away the screen, the larger the projected image.
Look at the projection. Never look through the pinhole at the Sun.
