In a ceremony held in Mumbai on Sunday, Dr Kumar was honoured in recognition of his distinguished contribution to public service and administration. He received the award from Sh. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the Hon'ble Minister for Skill Development and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra. Aaj Ka Karmveer Social Foundation honours distinguished individuals, including Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardees, who have made outstanding contributions across the Social, Health, and Wealth sectors, while actively promoting social welfare initiatives.

DELHI METRO AUGMENTS SERVICES WITH ADDITIONAL TRAINS AND TRIPS TO MANAGE INCREASED PASSENGER RUSH The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been continuously augmenting train services across its network since 16th September 2026 to manage the increased passenger rush and facilitate smooth movement of commuters. As part of these enhanced arrangements, initially 8 additional trains were operated on 16th September, along with 20 extra trips across the network. On 17th September, 8 additional trains and 32 extra trips were operated. However, in view of the increased demand, the number of extra trips was further increased to 38 on 18th September, 50 on 19th September and 43 on 20th September, with 8 additional trains operated on each of these days. On 21st September, DMRC operated 10 additional trains and 44 extra trips, while on 22nd September, 10 additional trains and 39 extra trips were operated as per operational requirements. In addition, DMRC has also deputed over 40 additional Customer Facilitation Agents (CFA) and operationalised around 17 Ticket Office Machines (ticketing counters) across the network to manage the rush of passengers. These enhanced services have been deployed to accommodate higher passenger demand, particularly during peak hours, and ensure smoother and more convenient travel for commuters. Amid the increased passenger movement, Delhi Metro also recorded its highest-ever passenger boardings in a single day, with 82,44,903 passenger boardings on 17th September 2026. This surpassed the previous record of 81,87,674 passenger journeys recorded on 8th August 2025. Passenger movement is being continuously monitored by DMRC officers and the number of train trips are being enhanced accordingly. DMRC remains committed to providing safe, reliable and efficient metro services and ensuring convenient travel for lakhs of commuters every day.

Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta flagged off five specially wrapped Metro trains comprising 36 coaches from ITO Metro Station. Running across the Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Violet Lines, these trains will carry information about Delhi Government’s welfare schemes across the city. The effort is to ensure that every eligible Delhiite knows about the schemes meant for them and can access their benefits with ease. #SevaSankalpAbhiyan

The Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Delhi Metro is participating in InnoTrans 2026, one of the world's largest events in the transportation sector. Smt. D Thara, Secretary, Department of Capital Development, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India inaugurated DMIL's exhibition pavilion today in the presence of senior officials from DMRC and DMIL. With such outreach and networking initiatives, DMIL intends to take the three decade long expertise of Delhi Metro in Metro rail operations and maintenance to global shores. As part of this this four day event, DMIL officials will also meet Metro rail operators, urban planners, City government representatives from across the world.

DELHI METRO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (DMIL) TO MAKE ITS GLOBAL DEBUT AT INNOTRANS 2026 IN BERLIN The Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), will make its global debut at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, taking its mobility expertise and experience to an international audience. Through its participation in InnoTrans, which is the world's largest trade fair being held every two years in Berlin (Germany), focusing on the rail transport industry, DMIL will showcase its capabilities across operations and maintenance (O&M), consultancy, project management and advisory services, while engaging with transit authorities, infrastructure companies, technology providers, operators and other mobility stakeholders to explore partnerships and opportunities across the global urban transport ecosystem. Sanjay Jamuar, Chief Executive Officer, Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), said, “InnoTrans 2026 provides an important platform to showcase the expertise of DMRC and DMIL on the global stage. It will help us engage with transit authorities, infrastructure partners and mobility leaders from across the world. Cities are looking for integrated, flexible and future-ready mobility solutions. DMIL has submitted five international bids in the last three months, marking a significant start to its international business expansion.
