WHEN SECONDS MATTER: A routine afternoon became a family’s worst nightmare when Lila was struck in a driveway accident. Seminole County Fire Department Station 22’s A Shift responded. In an emergency, every part of Seminole County’s public safety system plays a role. From Emergency 911 Communications answering the call, to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responding at the scene, to Seminole County Fire Department providing lifesaving care, each played a part in Lila’s successful outcome. Behind every 911 call is a family, a story and a connection that can last long after the sirens fade. Three years later, Lila is doing well, and the crew who responded that day is still part of her family’s life. This is what it means to serve a community: being there when seconds matter, and sometimes, staying connected long after. Your property taxes help support this work and many other County services.
