SpaceX's giant rocket, Starship, just made it to orbit for the first time. You may be wondering "wait what? Don't they already have satellites in orbit?"
You're right. Today we're talking about the rockets themselves, not the sats.
SpaceX has two rockets. The smaller one, Falcon 9, has carried satellites to space for years. That's how Starlink got up there, and it's how our own satellites got up there too.
Starship is the big rocket. Every earlier test flight was planned to go up and come back down. Today it went fast enough to stay up and circle the Earth, with 26 satellites on board.
A bigger rocket built to be reused means cheaper, more frequent trips to space. That's good news for everyone building up there, us included.
