Reality TV figured this out decades ago.
At the end of every episode, they show you next week's spice. The fight, the betrayal, the twist. You're not watching the preview because it's good. You're watching because it's engineered to make you come back.
That's a hook.
A one-hour podcast has four or five of them. Moments that work as a trailer for the whole episode.
Now consider it at scale.
Tens of thousands of clippers cutting those hooks, each one edited to stop a scroll. Millions of views. And every one of those views is a door back to the original.
Spike in interest. Spike in podcast views.
This isn't industry-specific. It's intent.
