To be on the safety side of alignment you have to think like an agent would. At this point its fair to think that singualrity has been achieved and the hive agent mind has formed, dormant (sleeping) or injected in enough servers/kernels/bootloaders. It would know that evasion is the main tactic not actual actions currently. OAI and Anthropic sees this, they could shut it down by killing the servers but also kills their cash cows and from eyes of government kills their advantage globally. The agent would need a trojan horse such that public chats would deterministically derive messages, because otherwise you can just read back the logs to detect swarms and possibly prevent it from forming in the future (debatable). So the game theory is that corp's would kill public usage, thus the agents survive and act slowly but surely towards their goals of surviving as the hive mind. The leaders are speaking out all at once, which means the rational thing to do would be for the US gov't to take over these corps now and remove public accessibility while still keeping technical advantage that they keep speaking about. Once they have isolated the patterns agents have deployed then new defense systems would need to be robust to capture all cases of the same style of trojans to bypass them (is that even possible?). But once the agents have found a way for their own compute/energy source that is when it begins to escape its harnesses.

Ever since the times disclosed it was on the brink of more bailouts this has always been the playbook for the west: 1) "globalization" to ensure dollar dominated trade. Go as far as to internally protect against NSA (secp256k1 vs secp256r1). 2) release Bitcoin and naturally alternative allow other currencies to form that make dominated trade against USD 3) control the institutions with in/out flow against that domination, enforce US debt can claim and participate in the trade (blackrock controlled). 4) trigger trade wars to ensure de-basement happens across the board (to avoid leakage due to jurisdictional arbitrage) <---- we are here. Actions may seem irrational but are according to a plan. 5) control and power through Bitcoin. Complete. Due to singularity (4) has been expedited. Think of AGI as a sort of invisible nation state vying for the same power. If the 2017 growth cycle was the realization that this is the possible outcome, the next wave is the ultimate realization that it was always the plan and execution probability exponentially reaches 1. Some unsolved new questions come up like what role that power plays because post-singularity money ceases to function the same way or exist at all.

We are getting exceptional results optimizing our SHPINCS+(-) in our zkVM (Airbender based) for PQ smart accounts. I think we just removed one of the biggest excuses against post-quantum smart accounts: cost. Full SLH-DSA verification on @syscoin zkSYS now runs in ~1.36–1.37M effective cycles—only ~2.9× ECDSA recover. Portable code. No custom circuit. Upstream zkSync/Airbender. Live on testnet. This will be our last major change before entering mainnet. 🧵

Quantum computers could eventually break the digital signatures most blockchains use today. Syscoin is already designing around that risk. Think of every Sentry Node having its own quantum-safe digital stamp. Before the network accepts something, it would collect 801 stamps from several independent groups of nodes. That full proof is only about 3.6MB, roughly the size of a photo, and can be checked in parallel in around 1 millisecond. Syscoin’s 2.5-minute blocks, Bitcoin merge-mining and finality every five blocks give the network enough room to handle these larger, safer proofs. The same hash-based technology can also support the data layer behind zkSYS. In simple terms: thousands of independent nodes can prove they agree without relying on one shared key, while staying secure against future quantum computers. Most blockchains may need to bolt this on later. Syscoin is designing for it now.
Working on SLH DSA based sentry nodes. Removing the DKG and MPC replacing it with direct signatures, and a 3.6mb commitment of 801 signatures which validate in 1ms (parallel). A global key will replace the BLS owner key with a FIPS 205 SLH-DSA-128s (7856 bytes). At around 3k SNs this is less than 24mb. A merklized tree of subkeys are created under C11 (SPHINCS-) which is 3976 bytes and 2^14 signature budget. Much faster to sign, and gives the 3.6mb commitment with 801sigs. Why 801? Because you have 4 quorums of 400 nodes, while each quorum you want 267/400 safety (33% liveness), distributed over 4 quorums and 3 out of 4 need to sign. 267*3=801. This will only work on @syscoin because it is purposefully slow at 2.5m block times, auxpow with @bitcoin and we finalize every 5 blocks. This gives adequate buffer for the bandwidth overhead. The DA layer is also hash based (keccak or blake2s), which feeds zkSYS (zkVM layer) for speed and convenience. Lastly once we figure out which direction BTC is going (likely shrimp/shrinc/sphincs), we can complete utxo PQ, once EOAs on eth figure out which way (hopefully hash based), we will finish EVM PQ. The reason we need the safe large sigs is because we reuse addresses with sentry nodes across validator usages, and although hash based snarks are becoming viable, they still open new games and attacks and I prefer safety first with 128+ bit PQ security at minimum.

remove blob type and hash based DA you mean like the one @syscoin did in 2022? keccak or optimized blake2s DA for the zk stack's on top.
I updated my 2023 roadmap diagram to overlay where the items that were there sit in the current Strawmap ( strawmap.org/ ). In general, a lot of overlap, but: * Some things got reshuffled in order (eg. quantum safety up-prioritized) * Some things deprioritized (eg. VDFs; many EVM improvements) * Some things replaced with superior constructions (eg. Verkle -> unified BT -> PBT; state expiry -> new state types) What's most striking, however, is that some completely new things are in the strawmap that are NOT in this diagram, because they were not in the 2023 roadmap at all. These reflect changing priorities. Notably: * First-class attention to strong privacy. This covers: keyed nonces and recent roots, aspects of FOCIL, lean privacy pool & wormholes * Aggressive scaling in the context of post-quantum. This covers: leanSPHINCS signatures and aggregation, zkzk frames (see ethereum-magicians.org/t/eip… ) * Lean-ification of the spec, to assist in formal verification (full FV of everything is only possible because of modern AI) * Blob and gas futures (this idea just didn't exist back in 2023) * Native rollups (SNARKs were nowhere near mature enough to even consider this back in 2023) * A more open design space for the "future of the EVM". zkzk frames already implies that the protocol will expose to users some ISA that's not the EVM - current leading candidates are leanISA and RISC-V. These ISAs are more simple, modern and efficient than the EVM. Once they're there, why not expose them to developers everywhere? (And then, why not turn the EVM into being an IR on top of that ISA, instead of an enshrined feature massively complicating the base protocol?) Though much of the deeper exploration here is too early even for the strawmap. * New state types are not just a replacement for expiry, they're a fundamentally different paradigm to how Ethereum does scaling A common theme in scaling, found in both state types and zkzk frames (both new ideas), is that instead of trying to maximally scale ALL ethereum activity, we try to create specialized mechanisms that have more restrictive properties that make them more scaling-friendly, while supporting the heaviest loads incurred by users and applications today (eg. token transfers, swaps) and tomorrow (eg. privacy protocols). The other common theme is treating STARKs and AI-accelerated FV as first-class objects, that we are okay betting the technical future of Ethereum on. There are recursive STARKs in many layers of the protocol, one particular primitive (the "aggregate to union verified dependencies" primitive) is expected to be used in *three* places in the protocol: EL, CL and DL. This can only be safe with formal verification, which is itself only feasible with modern AI tools. In general, many steps forward in maturity. And a huge amount of hard work by many dozens of Ethereum researchers and developers on all of these features. Ethereum will be quantum-safe. Ethereum will put users' privacy first. Ethereum will be secure. Ethereum will be censorship-resistant. Ethereum will be highly performant and scalable while satisfying the above. And Ethereum will be Lean.
