But as written, the Protect College Sports Act would deny college athletes these rights. Athletes deserve better than this union-busting bill.

The Protect College Sports Act would let the NCAA and powerful conferences set the terms and conditions of athletes’ work without their voice or input and deny them the rights they’re owed as workers.
Senators must stand with college athletes and reject this union-busting bill.
It apparently wasn’t a crisis when college coaches and conferences were hoarding the wealth athletes were creating—it only became a problem when athletes demanded their fair share.
The AFL-CIO and its Sports Council urge the Senate to vote NO on the Protect College Sports Act.

Lots of discussion on the the timeline about current youth sports culture with the recent @NYMag article. The most important point (that seems to be forgotten in many times in the debate) is that the privatization of sports had led to an increase in severe injuries in younger and younger children.

There aren't many college leadership courses where your classmates are literally trying to punch you. But there is at least one. Former US Olympic coach Dr. Christy Halbert teaches "Leadership Through Boxing" at Vanderbilt. And her students love it.

On the other hand, it's good that there's another game where they can continue competing at a higher level.
I think it's a great story and, to be honest, I'm curious to see how they'll do against the girls who have been playing for a long time."

Maybe read the rule book:
In LL balls & strikes are not open to discussion at all, by anyone, & only the manager has standing to approach an umpire in the first place.
Rule 9.02(a) makes any judgment call final.
No player, manager, coach, or substitute is permitted to object.

Consequence
Rule 4.07 is not discretionary. The ejected person leaves the field immediately, takes no further part in the game, may not sit in the stands, and may not be recalled. A manager or coach must not remain at the game site for the remainder of that game.

Assistant coach versus manager:
If a manager believes a decision conflicts with the written rules, the manager may request time, and once time is granted, the manager may approach the umpire who made the call to ask for clarification. An assistant coach has no standing.
