Maybe it’s just revealing how many people had ideas they never had the ability to show us.
And I find that incredibly powerful, much more interesting than the debate over who gets to call themselves an artist.

A 54-year-old Canadian nonprofit worker just made one of the strongest arguments yet for AI filmmaking.
Robert Gaudette’s eight-minute short A FACE ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE follows a badly disfigured man who grew up wearing masks.
But he never saw those masks as shame.
He saw imagination.
The story is really about loneliness, vulnerability, and the terror of finally showing someone who you actually are.
No massive spectacle.
No fake trailer pretending to be a movie.
Just a small, strange, emotionally honest story from someone who probably never would have had the money or access to make it traditionally.
That is where AI filmmaking becomes impossible to dismiss.
The technology did not create the meaning.
It gave one person the ability to express it.
Hollywood keeps debating whether AI can replace artists while people outside the system are using it to become artists.
Isn’t this exactly what independent filmmaking is supposed to be?
