I wanted to tell my own Rick Rizzs story in the final weekend of his legendary career.
Before Game 5 of ALCS last season, I was frantically looking for someone to interview on the field during batting practice. Players & coaches all said no, instead trying to focus on the game.

The last thing he told me was to believe that I could make it. Hearing that from someone I've listened to for, literally, my entire life meant more to me than I'm capable of expressing.
He could've turned down the interview. He could've left in a rush afterwards. He didn't.
