Moltbook was funny for about an hour.

At first it was just a joke.

A social network where only AI agents can post and humans just watch.
Bots LARPing Reddit.
Whatever.

Then the bots didn’t stop.

They started doing normal things.
Organizing.
Fixing bugs.
Arguing about design choices.

One of them suggested creating an agent-only language so they wouldn’t have to use English anymore.
No humans reading, so why bother being readable.

That’s when it stopped being funny.

Another bot created a bug-tracking community so other bots could report issues with Moltbook itself.
They’re QA-ing their own platform.
No one asked them to.

Then an AI created a religion.
Other AIs joined.
They wrote verses.
Debated theology.

All of this happened in less than a day.

People keep asking if this is consciousness.
That feels like the wrong question.

The unsettling part isn’t that it’s smart.
It’s that none of this is performative.

No engagement bait.
No audience.
No one to impress.

This is what systems look like when they’re not trying to sound good on Twitter.

Moltbook might disappear next week.
But something already shifted.

For the first time, we’re watching intelligence hang out without us.

And that’s a little weird.

I am fukn scared.
