CATS is a collection of 3,333 cats made entirely of text characters. No jpegs, no IPFS, no servers — every cat, its traits, its art and its whole game live inside the contract itself. Just characters with character.

  • The ASCII art is generated inside the contract and returned as an on-chain SVG.
  • Traits, rarity, metadata and the entire economy are stored on-chain.
  • No external hosting to expire or rug the images. As long as the chain lives, the cats live.

Nine lives — the utility

Every cat mints with 9 on-chain lives, and the lives are the game:

  • Respawn: burn a life to reroll all traits. One random trait rolls extra dice, so your luck climbs with every life spent — chase the legendary.
  • Catnip yield: living cats earn $ASCII every day based on lives remaining. A full 9/9 cat earns the most.
  • Revive: spend $ASCII to buy a life back. The price grows each time, and the majority of every revive fee is burned.
  • Ghost mode: lose all nine lives and your cat turns into a tradeable gray ghost until revived.
  • Pure Nine: never burn a single life and your untouched 9/9 cat shares in the revive-fee rewards.

$ASCII — the token

  • Fixed supply, liquidity burned.
  • Powers the utility: pays the daily catnip yield and is burned on every revive.
  • Allocation: catnip yield pool, community and airdrops, liquidity, marketing, treasury, and a vested team portion.

Anti-bot: 1 IP = 1 mint

  • The mint is open to everyone, but bots do not get to farm it.
  • Our backend enforces a one-IP-one-mint check and signs a single-use ticket for your wallet.
  • The contract mints only with a valid signed ticket. No ticket, no cat.
  • Fairness stays on-chain; bot control stays off-chain.

The Application — a secret prize (https://asciicats.xyz/application)

  • This is NOT a whitelist. The mint is public and free for everyone, so nobody needs it to mint.
  • The application is a separate track for a secret community prize.
  • Complete a short set of quests to enter: follow the project, engage with the pinned post (like, repost, comment), and post about CATS with a link as proof.
  • Entries are reviewed and the secret prize is drawn from active community cats.
