It's been quite a few months since we've shipped a release of
@SeleneWallet, so I want to give an update about our current position and promised 2026 deliverables. It's mostly good news, I promise!
Our next release is imminent - I am currently working on the final phases of review. As I've posted a few times before, AI has completely shifted the way I work, and this has had a major impact on how Selene development has been progressing. AI allows us to tackle more ambitious projects, but that has also come with its own learning curve and has slowed me down while I adjust.
We are excited to have made many substantial improvements to our infrastructure and workflow that should allow us more rapid improvements moving forward.
The next release will definitively have many bug fixes, an overhaul to our UI, support for WizardConnect, native Cauldron swaps, and the full release of the highly-anticipated Stablecoin Mode featuring
@ParyonUSD.
That's not all, though. Behind the scenes, we've been laying the groundwork for most of the other deliverables we've promised. For example, I am pleased to announce our first iteration of the Selene Explorer at
explorer.selene.cash, which we intend to evolve into a dashboard that allows us to track metrics across the entire BCH ecosystem.
Additionally, we will soon be releasing support for Reusable Payment Addresses (aka Stealth Addresses) alongside a library that will make it easy for other BCH wallets to also start using RPA. We hope this will be a major boost to both usability and privacy for everyone.
There has been substantial progress made on the CashFusion front. We have officially broadcast successful fusion transactions from a real Android device using Selene. However, there are still some UX challenges to solve that may require coordination with the original CashFusion protocol developers and server operators. Unfortunately, Fusion on iOS might be off the table, but we will do our best to make it happen anyway.
I have started setting up Weblate infrastructure which has been highly requested by people that wish to contribute translations to Selene. This is not yet complete, as it is competing with all other priorities, but the progress should still be reported. This platform becomes more important as we start releasing websites and apps beyond just the wallet, as they will all need to be localized, and we can use a common translations repository for that.
We have an open draft MR for CashConnect support that just needs a little TLC before it's ready to be merged. It is out of scope for the current release in the interest of not causing further delay.
Once this next release is out of the way, I will be turning more of my attention toward BChat and Dance Cash, as we are highly optimistic about the potential success of these products. Development in this area will naturally lead us to developing the long-promised Shareable Link feature alongside the BCH-native identity/account system that I've casually mentioned in the past.
Overall, we've been quiet this year, but we've been cooking. I am excited to share everything we've been working on as we close out 2026!
I appreciate everyone's patience as we transition into a new development paradigm and continue to build the best product we can.
Thanks for using Selene Wallet π
