From the alliance (ፅምዶ) building process to the owners of the idea and it's current public statements, my concern and opposition has only deepened. In a blatant way this alliance is co-opting our cause in service of tplf's political interest. For genuine Amhara the warning signs are in full display, the framing of the struggle, and whose political narrative is gaining prominence. Amhara's exclusion from Pretoria process is not a minor historical detail. Yet Pretoria is now being invoked as a central reference point, while the toxic hateful narrative that has justified Amhara persecution remains unchallenged. Amhara struggle cannot be explained through a borrowed political framework that once again excludes Amhara's truth. Our #AmharaGenocide massacre, suffering, and grievances can't be reduced to someone else's peace process. Pretoria was negotiated between two criminal parties ( PP/OLF & TPLF ) not the Amhara, whose suffering and grievances was deliberately sidestepped. For the Amhara, the crisis is rooted in a colonial narrative that served as a foundational concept for TPLF and OLF and all it's derivatives ( PP, OLA ) that casts us as oppressors, normalizes our persecution, and obscures our right to exist in dignity and security. Without a paradigm shift that confronts the original sin, Amhara hate narrative, regime change only at best will only postpone our death and displacement but not end them. As long as the root cause of our hell; the Amhara hate narrative that is the bedrock of Ethiopian "politics" is not rooted out of our political discourse and is not used in the future as a framework to build a system, our massacre, forced displacement, our genocide will never stop. Our struggle is not simply about who governs Ethiopia. It is about survival, justice, and ensuring we live up to Never Again. It is about dismantling the narrative and structures that have made Amhara suffering possible. Any alliance that fails to put this at the center is working in changing the political order while preserving the very conditions that brought us to this hell.
