Fast version: Dr strange has no connection or relation to any of the characters that took up forefront of the movie. So it lead to him playing catch up all movie.
Hawkeye is a dad, knows scarlet witch, and has a history of “okay this is happening” 1/x

And for mrs Chavez, Hawkeye is again a dad, and has a history of rolling with the situation, he could have served as a bridge to bring dr strange in, then we got our movie rolling. But no, we got dr strange’s odd adventure, minimal development for the characters 3/x
Being serious here, name one scene prior to this movie where strange and witch had an interaction, so why was strange so buddy buddy at the start? Hawkeye and Witch had an interaction, Hawkeye knows what it’s like to lose your loved ones. 2/x
