I've seen what happened to @danielfazio happen to dozens of operators, especially as they reach their late twenties: - Chad ram work for like 5 years straight - Actively suppress signals from your body in order to power through work - Use stimulants, fasting, etc to maintain sympathetic state - All gas, no brakes - Eventually your body reaches a point where its had enough - Something small takes you out: illness, injury, mold, etc - Think the trigger is the cause but in reality its just the final straw - Nervous system shuts down, body goes into "danger response mode" - Totally lose your spark, feel genuinely unwell (because you are unwell) This is your body beating you into submission. Telling you its had enough. Symptoms are always different but pattern is the same: You crash hard and can't seem to get back to normal. People blame it on the symptom rather than the root problem: Your operating system is all messed up. The solution require a mix of: - Recalibrating your nervous system - Addressing nutrient deficiencies - Using tools to shift your neurological state into recovery mode - Literal rewiring of your brain (using tools and reinforcement practices) - Building a baked-in recovery environment
For 8 straight months I would have 3-4 hour bouts of not being able to breath. Every single breath on manual mode. Happened 7 days a week every day. Never knew when it was gonna hit. I was once doing a presentation on a live workshop my company sold and I couldn’t finish. I couldn’t breathe. Mid presentation my heart rate spikes high af and I have to just sit and catch my breath. @cbwritescopy had to come on and finish my presentation. This was a daily occurrence. Normally going about my life. Heart rate spikes. Feels like I’m suffocating. Need to lay down for 3-4 hours in the middle of the day. Completely impossible to do anything or go anywhere. Another time I was out to dinner with some people and we went on a walk in the town after. I got an episode right there during the walk and just had to sit on a bench for an hour. Catastrophically inconvenient and terrifying thing to just be happening to a seemingly healthy 28 year old. It was constant. All of the time. I began actively avoiding everything that involved leaving the house because I didn’t want to have an episode and embarrass everybody. Got a concierge doctor. Saw different specialists. Shit tons of different tests. Went to ER 3 different times because I thought I was gonna suffocate. “There’s nothing wrong with you” - Tracked full elimination diet - Different types of water - Mold test in the house (had a previous exposure) - Tried different supplements (magnesium, vitamin d, vitamin c, etc) Hundreds of hours of research and probably tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure it out. Finally had @NoahRyanCo help me out. He told me I was in a constant sympathetic nervous system state. I might not consciously feel stressed, but my nervous system definitely was. My CNS was completely fried. He told me to take Glycine and L-Theanine. I order it. DAY 1 it solves the issue. Actually immediate relief. For the first time in almost a year I physically felt my lungs opening up. It was just easy to breathe. It felt like I could fly. I’ve taken it every day since and it hasn’t come back once. I literally carry glycine and l-theanine pills with me everywhere now. Was such a simple solve it’s honestly incredible

Many illnesses are, at their core, a nervous system issue. This is why the same people get sick with so many comorbidities - Chronic fatigue - CIRS - IBD - Histamine intolerance - Mold sensitivity - MCAS - Candida overgrowth - SIBO - Dysautonomia - hEDS These are bidirectional. They all flare your nervous system and your nervous system flares them all back. You can address them with targeted interventions and they will improve. But if you want to get to the ROOT, you must take a nervous system-centric approach.

Best cooking methods (in order): - raw - steamed - poached - slow cooked Dry heat, especially at high temperatures creates problematic byproducts like AGEs and acrylamides. Excessive frying and searing has significantly more downsides than gentler, wet cooking. This is also why soups, stews, and raw foods are more heavily associated with longevity and nourishment

The more magnesium you take at once, the less that gets absorbed: 100mg = 40-70% absorbed 200mg = 35-60% absorbed 400mg = 25-50% absorbed 1,000mg = 10-30% absorbed The meta is to saturate your cells with magnesium throughout the day. Your body needs a steady stream of Mg for 600+ functions. Keeping a steady stream aligns better with how your body uses Mg (which it uses for pretty much everything)

Remember that who you are is defined just as much by what you don't do as much as what you do. The job you didn't take, the opportunities you didn't pursue. The money you didn't take. What you say no to is more important than what you say yes to.

Whatever you do, do not let your energy get stagnant. Stagnant energy in the brain leads to rumination, anxiety, neuroticism Stagnant energy in the body leads to lethargy, pain, and and disease. Keep your energy flowing and never let it get stuck

I have been investing heavily into making my house as healthy as possible: - air filters - wooden furniture - wool rugs - circadian friendly lighting - latex matress - wool pillows - plastic-free kitchenware You spend a majority of your existence inside your home. It can either work for you or against you. Making healthy swaps are, in the grand scheme of things, nominal investments. Health should not be a daily decision but rather an environment and lifestyle design.

100% natural latex is one of the best materials for furniture and mattresses. Its non-toxic and does not off-gas harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like polyurethane foam. Its made from rubber tree sap and is naturally cooling antimocrobial. Feels like a firmer version of memory foam.

You should be doing micro movement sessions throughout the day. Just enough to get out of your head and into your body. Get the blood flowing. Focus on balance, mind muscle connection, proprioception. Most spaces incentivize lethargy, yours should incentivize movement.
