We’re praying for a speedy recovery for the @NYCPDDEA member who was stabbed seven times by this savage vermin. New York needs tougher laws and real consequences. Without them, violent criminals will continue to act with impunity. #UCOPS #BackTheBlue #NYPD #LawAndOrder #SupportPolice

Detective Brian Mulkeen’s life ended seven years ago due to the actions of a violent criminal armed with a gun. Brian was 33 years old, a great cop, and loved by all who knew him. We will #NeverForget Brian. The DEA and every NYPD Detective will forever stand with his family.

A BIG WIN FOR NYPD DETECTIVES. After two years of relentless advocacy by the Detectives' Endowment Association, Tier 2A pension reform is now LAW. The reform gives affected Detectives greater flexibility in how their pension is calculated - and greater control over when the time is right to retire. They earned it. Congratulations to the DEA and the more than 2,000 NYPD Detectives impacted by this hard-fought victory. #UCOPS #NYPD #DEA #Detectives

Tier 2A pension reform is now law! After two years of relentless advocacy by the DEA, Governor Hochul signed legislation correcting an inequity affecting more than 2,000 NYPD Detectives. The new law gives affected members the option to calculate their pension using their final 12 months or the average of their three highest consecutive calendar years. It gives Detectives greater control over when to retire—ensuring they can collect their pension when it’s right for them. They have certainly earned it! And we’re not done fighting for The Greatest Detectives in the World.

The DEA joins our family in blue in mourning the tragic loss of Probationary Police Officer Kamir Loubarria, who passed away after a medical emergency during training at the Police Academy. Though his career was just beginning, Officer Loubarria had already answered the call to serve and protect New Yorkers. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fellow recruits, and the NYC PBA.
