As a reminder, the NFL and NFLPA agreed before the season to a new policy for fine reimbursements.
For hip-drop and horse-collar tackles, launching, illegal blindside blocks and hits on defenseless players, those fined will get 50 percent back if they don’t get fined again for the same foul.
Players fined for any other player-safety infraction will get 100 percent of their fine back if they’re not fined again for the same foul.
The struggle to call hip-drop tackles in real time continues. The NFL fined the #Bills’ CJ Gardner-Johnson $11,194 for this tackle that was deemed a hip-drop. No flag.

Nick Pappas, the NFL field director, said the Maracana field passed all of the mandatory requirements on Friday in testing in conjunction with the NFLPA and an independent specialist. The nature of the issues with soccer led to complaints from the bumpiness that are not as much of an issue with football. Pappas said the focus is on athlete performance and the field should be good. If it rains then there is a tarp to cover the field.
