BREAKING - THE FIRST LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED!
My friend Brandon Tatum exclusively broke the news just a short time ago: the first lawsuit announced by attorneys J. Tyler Cox and Edward Andrew Paltzik has now been filed in connection with the relentless accusations surrounding the death of Nolan Wells.
The defendant is former NFL star and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens. The plaintiffs are Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour, three of Nolan Wells’ friends who the lawsuit says have been falsely accused of being involved in Nolan’s death and a supposed cover-up. The federal complaint, filed in the Southern District of Mississippi, brings claims for defamation per se and false light and demands a jury trial.
The lawsuit centers around a September 26 post made by Owens on X. Owens shared a link to a video from “Trent Out Loud” featuring a photograph of Warren, Jax, and Morgan and wrote: “ARREST THEM IMMEDIATELY!! LIKE YESTERDAY!!”
According to the complaint, the video Owens promoted accused the three young men of murdering Nolan and tampering with Nolan’s phone afterward to cover it up. The complaint argues that Owens’ own statement, combined with his endorsement of the video, falsely accused these young men of extremely serious crimes, including murder and evidence tampering.
The grand jury had already spoken. The complaint states that the Jackson County Grand Jury unanimously returned a No True Bill after what it described as a thorough investigation into Nolan’s death.
The complaint also lays out a detailed timeline of what Warren and the others actually did. It states that Nolan voluntarily stayed behind on Horn Island while the larger group departed around 1628. Later that night, when Nolan had not returned, Warren began trying to locate him. The lawsuit states that Warren called Nolan’s mother, Christine Wells, told her Nolan had not returned with the group, and then personally contacted the United States Coast Guard at approximately 2313, remaining on the phone for more than 20 minutes and providing information to assist in the search.
The complaint further states that Warren, Jax, and Morgan never possessed, accessed, altered, deleted, or erased anything from Nolan’s phone, directly contradicting the allegations Owens amplified. The following morning, Warren and Jax were also among those who returned to Horn Island to physically search for Nolan.
The lawsuit argues that Owens either knew or should have known all of this before broadcasting an accusation to his enormous audience. According to the complaint, his post had already accumulated approximately 140,000 views, 405 comments, 571 reposts and 2,600 likes, while Owens himself has more than a MILLION followers on X. The plaintiffs allege that this kind of amplification has caused catastrophic damage to their reputations and endangered their physical safety. They are now seeking compensatory and punitive damages, with the amount to ultimately be determined at trial.
THIS IS ONLY lawsuit number one. THERE WILL BE MORE.
Tyler Cox and Ed Paltzik have made it very clear that the young men who have spent months being publicly branded as murderers despite the evidence, the investigation, and a unanimous No True Bill are beginning to fight back in court.
