aamc.org/news/press-releases… This is 100% correct, yet still understates the impact. There are efficiencies to be gained at @NIH, even ones that might trim academic funding over time. But doing it this severely at once will cause loss of >500,000 jobs in red and blue states alike.

Thanks to @MGBneurosurgery and @EAChiocca for a wonderful send-off this week as I prepare to make the leap to my new professional home @UofUHealth a week from now. There is no way a single post can capture a quarter century of friendships, academic adventure, and what a huge impact @MassGeneralNews and @MassGeneralMDs has had on me and my family. As I said in my remarks, I've loved every day of working at the Mass General and @MassGenBrigham alongside our incredible residents, staff, APPs, faculty, and all the collaborating departments across @MGHNeuroSci. Thank you to all the friends and supporters in our community who have wished me well as I take on this new adventure. Next stop->Salt Lake City and @UUtah. I’m excited to scale new mountains, scan fresh vistas, and envision what we will build together. Onward!

In an unprecedented move, research-grant reviews have been suspended indefinitely at the world’s largest public funder of biomedical research go.nature.com/4gclXG0

Read more about NJAM in the attached article and its goals in helping to develop ethical and legal frameworks for the use of rapidly advancing novel neurotechnologies.

NJAM Senior Fellows will receive mentorship and training from NJAM Director Dr. Theresa Williamson MD MPH @Twilli7, as well as NJAM Co-Directors Dr. Gabriel Lázaro Muñoz PhD JD @GLMbioethics and Dr. Francis Shen JD PhD dana.org/article/neurotech-i…
