Summary: To kick things off, @parvezshaikh03 opened PPGC 46 with an agenda covering PIP-92 and the next security release. Some larger items will be presented at the next meeting once ready. Next, @AdamAID walked through PIP-92, interim solution for PIP-85. Roughly 27.3M POL in priority fees accumulated over five months will be distributed to delegators from Oct 1 to Dec 1 through the existing staking reward mechanism, with no claim process needed. The checkpoint reward rises from roughly 25,000 to 64,000 POL for the two-month window (~3.7% APY increase). Any shortfall or surplus rolls into the next PIP-92 iteration. PIP-93 is in development as the long-term fix. Adam also confirmed validator rewards under PIP-65 and PIP-85 are untouched and continue to pay out monthly in parallel. Following, Marcello A. presented the Lugano hardfork, which activated on Amoy and targets mainnet around Oct 1. It ships four consensus-gated hardening changes: tighter transaction decoding, normalized Clerk event records, fixed Clerk transaction hash widths, and a bounded checkpoint block window. Non-consensus changes include rate and byte limits on block sync serving, structured logging with full JSON output downstream in CometBFT and Cosmos SDK, parameterizable node home directories, and ABCI calls running in separate goroutines so slow handlers no longer block block execution. For steps to upgrade, please create a support ticket with a valid business email.

100 Million POL has been burned from supply. Since January 2026, network activity has scaled tremendously. This has made the network token deflationary through the base fee's burn mechanism. Every Polygon transaction adds POL to the collector, which has lead to this burn.
BURN COMPLETE: 100 MILLION POL (~1% of POL total supply) IS OFFICIALLY BURNED PERMANENTLY. polygonscan.com/tx/0x5665ea8…

BIG UPDATE: 100M POL ready to be permanently BURNED. Polygon is printing revenue. $24.5m YTD. We are deploying a change that lets anyone in the community trigger its burn. 2026YTD Revenue Super happy about $NEAR and $ARB getting much deserved love, but in terms of revenue, my analyst at ChatGPT says: ethereum:0x455e53cbb86018ac2b8092fdcd39d8444affc3f6 : 24.5mn $ARB : $8.41m (Includes the trailblazing Robinhood chain) $NEAR : $5.6m (Includes the now legendary Near Intents) ethereum:0x455e53cbb86018ac2b8092fdcd39d8444affc3f6 is 3x revenue of $ARB, 5x of $NEAR. I hope the market gods will shower their smiles on ethereum:0x455e53cbb86018ac2b8092fdcd39d8444affc3f6 community too someday. BTW huge kudos and love to both @NEARProtocol and @arbitrum teams and communities (Forgive me for this bad cope on ethereum:0x455e53cbb86018ac2b8092fdcd39d8444affc3f6 missing out of the rally till now 😥😥) Anyways, the contracts are on testnet, after the final Security Council signatures, they go to mainnet. Then anyone can trigger the first burn, permanently burning the 100M POL instantly. Post that every quarter, anyone from the community would be able to burn ethereum:0x455e53cbb86018ac2b8092fdcd39d8444affc3f6 from the supply Since January 2026, POL has been deflationary and the network is still getting hammered with activity…payments, trades, consumer apps, everything. We have scaled 10x to 5k TPS and multiple earth shattering updates are coming on the TPS front. Every base fee adds POL to the collector. it has reached 121M POL. It's your time to burn 100M! 🔥

Summary: To kick things off, @parvezshaikh03 shared the agenda covering security releases, the PIP-85 update, and the validator permissioning proposal. Next, @davidesilverman gave an update on network priority fees. Instead of the original plan detailed in PIP-85, a new proposal, PIP-92, adjusts staking APY directly for two months to emit fees to stakers, with no claim process needed. PIP-93 would follow a week later with a longer-term distribution method. David also announced 6 new validators onboarded to the SPOL validator set, with more evaluations open to operators under 5% commission rate and above 98% validator uptime. Following, Marcello A. recapped two live hardforks. Austin (Bor v2.10) bounds state sync gas per block and removes a crash-prone dependency field. Kyoto (Heimdall v0.11) closes seven issues, including nested-message decoding overload, checkpoint signature normalization, and consensus continuity checks. A full review post is coming to the forum. To close, Agustin A. presented PIP-91, a validator pass contract that formalizes onboarding and replaces informal anti-sniping methods. It only affects new validators, can be disabled by zeroing the contract, and needs community consensus plus an external audit before it ships.

Thanks to Polygon community's vocal demand, the team has been working on a staking and tokenomics overhaul proposal. I just saw it and I can't stop myself from sharing some sneak peeks. We delivered 10x growth this year in revenue. We delivered 5k tps, we delivered 25% reduction in blocktimes and are on track to deliver <1 sec blocktimes. Now its stakers' turn to get their fair share 👀 → Native, L1-like staking on Polygon POS alongside Ethereum staking. → Priority fees from every transaction will flow to POL stakers. This is already approved in PIP-85 but the rollout is slow because of challenges of implementing it on Ethereum. Native staking makes implementation much cleaner. → Staking yield projected to almost double, funded by real network fees, not inflation → Additional benefits for Staking POL to incentivize more POL staking, possibly discounted gas fees → sPOL growth locked in - stay liquid, keep earning, use it across DeFi → Polygon labs will build the code and put proposal in the community forum for approval Real usage → real fees → real rewards for the people securing the network.

Ithaca Upgrade is now live on Polygon Mainnet for block number 50,185,000.
Ithaca Upgrade The Ithaca Hardfork has been successfully deployed to Amoy testnet and will be released on Polygon mainnet at block number 50,185,000, at approximately 2 PM UTC on July 29. This upgrade makes payments on Polygon more reliable: an automatic failover keeps transactions moving smoothly in the rare case a block producer stalls, new safeguards block transactions that could slow or destabilize the network, and node operators get better visibility to keep everything running seamlessly under the hood. All node operators must upgrade as soon as possible to ensure compatibility and network safety. Steps to upgrade: forum.polygon.technology/t/h…

To kick things off, @parvezshaikh03 shared the agenda and meeting overview. Next, @davidesilverman presented PIP-87, a fixed-cost program that lets whitelisted payment relayers purchase Polygon Chain blockspace at predictable, fiat-denominated rates. David also shared a quick PIP-85 update: epoch closes May 7, with delegator priority-fee claims expected roughly a week or two after, post-audit. Following, @AdamAID outlined the Q2 capacity roadmap. Block time planned to decrease from 2.0s, and the block gas limit increasing from 120M to 140M+ Simon Dosch then presented PIP-86, which adjusts the checkpoint reward in lockstep with the planned block-time reductions so annual POL emission stays constant as checkpoints arrive more frequently. To close, Marcello Ardizzone recapped the Phuket Hardfork (v0.7.0). It activated cleanly on mainnet with 100% of voting power on the upgrade, closed several consensus-level vulnerabilities, and introduced two stateful changes covering signer/fee accounting and governance deposit handling.

PIP-87: Fixed Cost Payments Program This proposal introduces a fixed-cost program to provide predictable, fiat-denominated pricing on blockspace for payment companies building on Polygon. Fees from the program will flow to the ecosystem via PIP-82, PIP-85 and EIP-1559 systems. The goal: align the Polygon Chain’s pricing model with the requirements of payment providers, while strengthening the link between network usage and POL value accrual. To kick things off, @parvezshaikh03 shared the agenda and updates on governance. Next, @pratikspatil024 presented PIP-83, which embeds EIP-1559 gas parameters directly into block headers for improved transparency. This is already live on Polygon's testnet with no issues. Following, @0xlucca30 outlined the Guiliano Hardfork (PIP-84), targeted for mainnet on April 8th. Testing on Amoy showed a ~2 second reduction in finality. It also reintroduces early block announcements. @davidesilverman introduced PIP-85, a priority fee amendment that sends 50% of validator priority fees directly to stakers. The remaining 50% splits between performance-adjusted stake weight (25%) and equal-weighted performance adjustment (75%). Big thanks to the community who pushed for this PIP. To close, David shared an update for a PIP-82 amendment: Polygon's agentic commerce share has grown significantly, with intentions to expand rebates to more facilitators.
