One more reason to turn off your voicemail. Voicemail is an attack surface.
I got hacked at 3:59 AM without clicking anything. My voicemail handed the attacker my Telegram login code.
Here is exactly how it worked, so it doesn't happen to you.
3:54 AM. My phone rings about ten times in a row, No Caller ID. That was not harassment. It was the attack: keep my line busy.
Meanwhile, the attacker asks Telegram to log in with my number and picks "send the code by phone call". My line is busy, so Telegram's robot call lands on my voicemail and reads the code out loud to it.
Carrier voicemail can often be reached remotely, with a default PIN or a spoofed caller ID. He listens to the message. At 3:59 he is in.
Fortunately, the attack was noisy. The calls woke me up. At 4 AM I only wanted to go back to sleep, but I had the presence of mind to check my notifications. Telegram was showing a new login from a device I didn't know. That check is what saved me: I ended his session within minutes. If I had rolled over, the next day would have been a mess.
In those few minutes he had already typed /balance, then /start on every old wallet bot he could find in my chats. He was hunting for funds tied to my Telegram. The bots were long dead and nothing was lost. He still had time to set his own 2FA password on my account.
What would have stopped it:
Telegram two-step verification, with a recovery email. With a password on the account, the code alone is useless.
Your voicemail. Change the PIN, block remote access, or turn it off (##002# cancels call forwarding on most carriers).
Same for WhatsApp and any service that can send a code by voice call.
No seeds, keys or passwords in Saved Messages. Ever.
A burst of masked calls at night is a signal, not a nuisance. Check your notifications and your active sessions.

Ukraine MUST retaliate accordingly. It's Russia who put terms of the fight. If they demonstrate targeting civilization infrastructure is fair and you don't respond with the same they will continue. Just announce it will be 1 for 1. If you go to fight and your opponent believes "no rules " applying any other rules is limiting yourself and putting yourself in losing position. Can you afford it? Defense is much harder then offense. For both sides.
The Russians are escalating. I am not surprised by Russia’s hatred of Ukraine, but I am surprised by this approach. They struck our warehouses – Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, and others. We gave them a fitting response with Wildberries.
Now they are striking bridges. Do they really think we won’t respond? They are striking data centers. All of this affects people. This is certainly not some kind of military infrastructure. How can they strike data centers, mobile communications? How does Putin not think about the fact that mobile communications are used not only in Kyiv, in Ukraine? They are used in Moscow too.
I am really surprised by this savage desire to escalate every single day. In other words, he is counting on constant escalation. He wants this very much. This is an answer to everyone – to those who believe that all you have to do is simply ask Putin and he will end the war for real. It won't happen simply.

One of the basics thought at school should be how to recognize manipulation and disinformation. Without this skill people are lost. We are drowning in information, what is challenging is to recognize manipulation (of emotions) tricks and know how to verify. Using AI helps but AI sometimes delivers false as well.
Nobody should come out of high school without a basic understanding of modern science, philosophy or math. Colleges should stop admitting unprepared students and try to catch up where schools fail

No modern political event will make sense until you understand the two reasons why a man will hate you.
He will hate you because you harm him, which is easy to understand.

No, that's not backwards. That is what you must understand.

Once upon a time, a man was given an ultimatum. He had to dissociate himself from me, or his long-term benefactor would withdraw all support.
Some people deliberate from principle, while others examine their bread to determine with side it is buttered on. I try not to judge people too harshly if they don't have much butter.
But, suffice to say, he followed his benefactor's commands, despite having nothing in particular against me.
But he then began to dislike me, and make childish comments behind my back. This was utterly predictable if you understand how humans work.
See, having acted against me, he needed to feel that his actions were just.
A man who has harmed you needs you to deserve it, so that he can still feel good about himself. And he will find excuses to think that, because humans are good at telling stories.
Welfare takers don't hate you even though your taxes keep them alive. They hate you because your taxes keep them alive.
The criminal underclass doesn't rob you because they hate you. They hate you because they rob you.
The teeming brown hordes of the third world don't hate you because of history. They hate you because they want to ruin your country and take all your stuff.
Bernie Sanders doesn't try to tax away everything you have because he hates you. He hates you because he wants to tax away everything you have.
It's important to understand this difference.
If a man hates you because you have hurt him, you can appease him. You can apologize, you can make amends, and he can forgive you if he chooses to.
Because forgiving you doesn't violate his self-image.
But if a man hates you because he has hurt you, then you can never appease him. The more you are kind to him, the more you try to placate him, the more sympathy and understanding and gifts you provide, the more he will find reasons to hate you.
Because if you are good, then he is bad. So you can never be good in his eyes.
This is why no amount of sympathy is ever enough. This is why reparations for fictional injuries are a demand that never ceases.
This is why communists want to kill you, no matter how much you benefit them. And the more you do for them, the more they will hate you and want to kill you.
You must never turn the other cheek unless you struck first. You must never apologize unless you have actually done wrong.
You must never pay the Dane-geld, or you will never be rid of the Dane.
You have to fight them. You have no choice.
Because they do not hate for your sins. They hate you for theirs.
And they will continue to hate you until you punish them. Only when they have been punished do they stop needing to tell stories about how you really deserved what they did.

People got fooled into believing tolerance is a value of itself. The value is "tolerance of things that do not destroy your world and do not bring down quality of life". This is message is too long, but if you shorten it to "tolerance is good" it's just wrong. Ask anyone working with parameters, eg. your car guy. He will say there is tolerance on how breaks should work. It means: there are quality limits we should not cross or we risk accident. Tolerance is not a value of itself. Believing so is fake tolerance which leads to very opposite - a civil war - as we see symptoms today. Wrongly understood tolerance leads to war. What is a war? War is a time when innocent people suffer the most.

That's what I like, thinking in terms of evolution. Nature is closer to engineering then to ideologies. Nature works, ideologies are wishful thinking not displayed by nature. That's where radical left and religious right are deeply wrong, ignoring the nature.

Women are genetically programmed to mate up. Not down. And not even across. Up. If she doesn't regard a man as superior to her, she generally doesn't want to have his babies.
What this means is that there is an extremely simple control dial on fertility.
More male power and status = more babies.
More female power and status = less babies.
Yes, it really is that simple.
Why? Because every species has a mating ritual, and can only breed if they can carry it out. That's why you can breed rats and chickens in cages, but not pandas. Different mating ritual.
And a critical element of the human mating ritual is "male impresses female".
Not charms. Not bribes. Definitely not respects.

So, if you take power, wealth, and status away from men, and give it to women, you are just plain reaching for the controls and turning down the fertility dial.
If you let men keep power, wealth and status — you don't have to give it to them because they're the ones who create it — fertility goes up.
The fertility crisis is really the equality crisis.
This idea might horrify you. You might have been taught all your life that everyone is equal, or must be, and anything else is unfair.
Well, have you looked around you at universe? Unfairness is baked into the life cycle of every living organism, not mention the food chain. Evolutionary processes don't care about fairness. They care what works.
Perhaps someday, we will be able to code DNA as easily as we code C++, and can decide what we want our instincts to be. But until that day, we are faced with a choice.
1. Stop using the political, legal, and mass media processes to force female equality, if not outright female supremacy, on the first world.

2. Die out and be replaced by third world retards, who will stay on this planet fighting wars with increasingly rusty AK47s and then spears, until the next asteroid comes along.

Natural certainty comes from experience. Someone old and self confident was someone to follow. That was before civilization arise, generation after generation, since our ancestors used to live in small tribes. Since then it pays off to hijack the old scheme alive in subconscious and squeeze the profit out of the crowd. Why distinguishing manipulation and true value isn't thought at school?
The internet rewards certainty.
