Labor Day weekend in the books. Spent most of it where I usually seem to end up… at the baseball fields coaching my sons’ games. Hot weekend. Lots of baseball. Lots of family time. Wouldn’t have it any other way. How’d everyone else spend the long weekend?

Starting the process of finding great cleaners for Hattie’s Cleaning Co. I know the quality of the business is ultimately going to come down to the quality of the people doing the work. For anyone who’s built a cleaning or home service business, any recruiting tips you learned the hard way? I’m all ears.

Had a great call with @CalebTrevinoSEO this morning. Connected here on X and spent some time talking SEO, growing Hattie’s Cleaning Co., and getting our Google Business Profile dialed in. Tonight officially starts the next phase of building Hattie’s Cleaning Co. The search for great cleaners begins. Not looking to just fill a roster. Looking for reliable people who do great work and want consistent cleaning jobs as we grow. Time to start making some calls and see who we can find. Any hiring tips out there?

Home service business owners: Anyone here actually use yard signs? Thinking about testing them for Hattie’s Cleaning Co. and curious if they’ve actually generated leads for you. Worth it? Or mostly just neighborhood decoration?

Sunday morning. Coffee. Hattie’s out for her walk. Thinking about the week ahead. Website is done! Next phase is recruiting cleaners. Still building Smart Station. Still working the 9–5. Still figuring plenty of it out as I go. A lot on the plate right now. But I’d rather be busy building something than sitting around wondering “what if?” Back at it tomorrow. 🚀

These new “tabs” or whatever they’re calling them are actually pretty awesome. Feels like you get a little control back over what you want to see instead of just letting the algorithm decide what gets shoved into your feed. Big fan so far.

Day 2 of Hattie’s Cleaning Co. The team is building the first version of the website today. Still early. Still a lot to build. But every day this thing gets a little more real. One step at a time.
