Calgary-Shaw voters just sent Danielle Smith a message.
Conservatives have won this south Calgary riding in every election since 1986 except 2015, and the UCP took it by more than 3,300 votes in 2023. On Monday, the UCP lost it in a by-election.
Albertans have had enough of Smith's separatist referendum and MAGA-style agenda. We want a government focused on making life better, not one dragging us into political fights that put our future at risk.

Alberta's oil and gas industry made $22 billion in profits in just the second quarter of this year, and over that same period it employed fewer people and paid them less.

Today, we hosted a round table discussion with the Hon. John Zerucelli, Canada’s Secretary of State for Labour to meet with labour leaders from across the province.
We talked about our support for Canada in the U.S.-Canada trade war, the need for the federal government to fulfill their obligation to enforce the Canada Health Act in Alberta, and our concerns about separatism ahead of the October 19 referendum.
Alberta's labour movement stands with Canada. That position isn't conditional and it isn't up for negotiation.
We appreciated the Secretary of State making the trip and hearing directly from Alberta's unions. These are the conversations that need to keep happening.

AFL officers sat down with the HSAA board yesterday to talk about where health care in Alberta is headed.
The government is counting on unions to fight these issues one at a time. One contract, one facility, one table. That's their whole strategy, for every issue, not just health care.
