When communities design their own solutions against climate shocks, resilience becomes real. With support from the Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund #UCCRTF, ADB helped empower local populations to shift from recipients of aid to active designers of their own future. Between 2019 and 2022, ADB worked with eight communities across secondary cities in #Bangladesh, #Pakistan, and the #Philippines to develop tailored community resilience plans. These initiatives equip local areas to better anticipate, absorb, and recover from climate impacts and urban stressors. The Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and the governments of Switzerland and the United Kingdom. ADB has approved a $160 million loan to expand solar power generation in #Bhutan, deploying at least 310 megawatts of new solar capacity. The Solar Farm Expansion Project marks a major milestone as the country introduces its first private-majority public–private partnership in the energy sector. This initiative is further strengthened by a $500,000 grant from the Innovative Finance Facility for Climate in Asia and the Pacific, funded by the Government of Japan to support green job training, and a $1 million technical assistance grant from ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund to enhance institutional capacity.
