🇹🇷🇹🇼 As AKUT, we took part in an international search and rescue exercise held in Taitung, Taiwan, under the coordination of the Taiwan National Fire Agency (NFA). For three days, we worked alongside the @Pingtung Rescue Team across different disaster and emergency scenarios, sharing knowledge, experience, and operational expertise. The exercise included flood and swift-water rescue scenarios on the first day, USAR and UCC operations on the second day, and a bus accident scenario on the third day. Bringing together teams from different countries, this exercise once again highlighted the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of search and rescue. We would like to thank the @Pingtung Rescue Team for their strong cooperation, hospitality, and solidarity throughout the three-day exercise. From 22 to 26 June, our Association's Wilderness Search Instructors delivered Wilderness Search theory and practical field workshop to 24 participants, all members of the Taiwan National Fire Agency (NFA), at the NFA Training Centre as part of the ongoing collaboration between our Association and the NFA. The training programme, organised through the partnership between AKUT and the Taiwan National Fire Agency (NFA), provided participants with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in wilderness search operations through a combination of classroom-based instruction and hands-on field exercises. We want to thank all the stakeholders who contributed to this valuable collaboration, which strengthens international knowledge sharing and enhances disaster preparedness capacity.

As a consortium partner of the EU MODEX programme under the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, AKUT Search and Rescue Association took part in the Physical Planning Meeting for the exercise that will be held in Switzerland this October. During the meeting, partners worked together on the exercise scenario, training objectives, operational planning, logistics, safety measures, and coordination arrangements. The programme also included visits to the exercise sites, where final preparations and on-site planning were carried out. Our Association is holding various meetings at INTERSCHUTZ 2026, which is taking place in Hanover, Germany, between 1–6 June 2026, with the aim of strengthening our relationships with international stakeholders, following the latest developments in disaster and emergency management technologies, and examining new equipment and systems that can be utilized in search and rescue operations. Throughout the exhibition, contacts are being established with numerous organizations, institutions, and companies operating in the fields of search and rescue, firefighting, civil protection, emergency medical services, and disaster management. Opportunities for international cooperation are being evaluated, and ideas are being exchanged regarding potential joint projects and future collaborations. In addition, national companies exhibiting at the fair are being visited and supported.
