Self-exploration is the foundation for skill development but unfortunately it has become removed from the process. Self exploration allows players to own movement solutions instead of only executing a predetermined move or moves. It enhances feel over form. It turns failure into information. It focuses on variability which impacts adaptability. Teaching will always matter. Self exploration is never meant to replace teaching but it must be involved in the development process.

Rob Dillingham getting waived is no surprise. Elite player. However, does nothing tangible and is a small guard who can’t guard.

Athletes, discipline doesn’t stop when you leave the field. 🗣️ If you’re not willing to sacrifice what you eat to become better, faster, stronger, and more consistent, you won’t last long. What you put in your body shows up in your performance. You want different results? You have to make different choices. 💯 #RespectTheGrind #AthleteDiscipline #TRPT #NoExcuses

The most glaring weakness in youth basketball right now is passing. Advancing the ball, feeding the post, hitting the wing after a V-cut, baseline drive-and-drift and crackback passes. Simple passes we used to take for granted are now a major struggle for many young players.

Replying to @AMB2Live
But @AMB2Live how else am I going to shot chuck, reinforce some bad habits, and play no defense?

AGREED! So many “trainers” nowadays only teaching kids how to play off the dribble/isolation situations. Only a select few get that right at the higher levels!!
Too many kids grow up in hoops being ball dominant and never learn how to play without being ball dominant....then they hit a certain level and what got them here won't get them there.....Kids who understand the game translate several levels beyond those that don't!!

I see many kids working out like a PRO when theres no need for it right now. Hella dribbles, hella isolation stuff like your Luka or James harden at the top of the key. Aint nobody playing like that. Work on catch & shoot. Catch & drive. Catch & pass & get it back. It TRANSLATES!

Hitting somebody up/checking in on them every time you need a favor is not a relationship. It’s a transaction. I’ll never be a transaction. Understand that 🤝

Stop rushing your kid’s development and focus more on the daily process. The work has never cheated anybody that remains true to it.

Coaches.....don't schedule so much stuff that the kids who actually will work on their game don't have time/energy to get solo time in the gym with just them, a ball and the basket......don't solve for the ones who don't work....keep space for the ones who do...parents also..

It was so much doubt surrounding us this year. Yes, it’s week 1, however, hell of a defensive performance, K9 is the monster we knew he was, Patty looks just as explosive and healthy as ever (the rust will come off). I like where we’re headed ! We are fuckin back Kingdom !!!

Somewhere along the way, basketball became something players train for individually. It’s not tennis. There are nine other players on the court. Learn the nuances of the game instead of constantly working on dribble moves against nobody. So much time is wasted in empty gyms.
