However, before the court’s decision, calling the Chief Election Commissioner anti-national and attacking the Election Commission over the SIR process is objectionable. The Election Commission says SIR is a statutory process conducted under judicial oversight. The process has involved removing names of deceased, duplicate and permanently shifted voters. Whether any individual’s name has been wrongly removed can be challenged through the prescribed process.
