As the APLMS reviews the evolution of aging and longevity research, it is also revisiting how four ancient civilizations, China, India, Egypt, and Greece, understood the concepts of “health” and “disease.” This raises a fundamental question for modern medicine: Where should medicine truly begin? Since ancient times, humans have sought not only to understand and treat disease, but also to preserve health and nurture life. With the advancement of modern medicine, we have become increasingly effective at detecting, diagnosing, treating, and even curing diseases that once threatened human life. Yet as medicine has become increasingly focused on “disease,” should we also turn our attention back to health itself? This is one of the important questions to be explored at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Healthy Longevity International Summit: Health is the starting point of medicine, and the ultimate goal of Healthy Longevity.(apaclongevitysociety.org/#/m…)

Asia-Pacific Longevity Medicine Society celebrated Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival). [Five Bats Celebrating Longevity] Five Bats Celebrating Longevity is inspired by one of China’s most iconic symbols of longevity and good fortune. In Chinese, “bat” (fú, 蝠) sounds like “blessing” (fú, 福), and the five bats represent the traditional Five Blessings: longevity, prosperity, health and peace, virtue, and a fulfilled life.

Macau Healthy Longevity Services Symposium From Premium Destination to Healthy Longevity Services Hub APLMS, together with local business partners, will co-organize the Macau Healthy Longevity Services Symposium at MGM Hotel, Macau, on October 2, 2026. Why Macau? Like Las Vegas, Macau offers world-class integrated resorts, luxury hospitality, entertainment, MICE infrastructure, and a major international visitor economy, welcoming around 40 million visitors annually. But Macau has a distinctive strategic advantage: its position as a gateway to the Greater Bay Area and the rapidly growing Asian market for healthy aging, preventive health, personalized wellness, and longevity services. The opportunity is not simply to replicate Las Vegas, but to develop a new Macau model—integrating hospitality with preventive health, longevity assessment, digital health, personalized wellness, rehabilitation, insurance and financial services, and wellness tourism. The Symposium will bring together leaders from healthcare, integrated resorts, technology, investment, insurance, finance, and professional services to explore new cross-industry partnerships and business opportunities in the emerging healthy longevity economy. Macau’s next opportunity: evolving from a premium destination into an Asia-Pacific hub for healthy longevity services.(for business contact: bd@longevitysociety.org)

APLMS is launching a new initiative—the Healthy Longevity Experience Tour in Hong Kong—during the 2026 Asia-Pacific Healthy Longevity International Summit, October 1. There is a saying: “Where there was once no road, a path emerges when people walk it again and again.” Healthy longevity is much the same. It is not achieved through a single intervention or technology, but through the choices we make and the steps we take every day, throughout life. The APLMS Healthy Longevity Experience Tour brings this idea to life: walk the city, experience its culture, connect with people, and discover how healthy longevity can become a Way of Life—for All of Us. Walk Every Day. Live Healthier. Live Longer. (apaclongevitysociety.org/#/)
