🌏 40 Years of Connecting Germany and Asia-Pacific
As APK celebrates its 40th anniversary, we are honoured to welcome the conference back to Seoul for its 19th edition, continuing a tradition of dialogue and partnership between Germany and the Asia-Pacific region that began four decades ago.
First launched in Tokyo in 1986, the conference began as a regional gathering of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together just 52 participants. Since then, APK has travelled across major business hubs including Jakarta, Sydney, Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong, and New Delhi.
Over the years, it has evolved into one of Germany’s leading business platforms in the region, attracting more than 800 participants from business, government, industry associations, and the wider business community at its most recent edition in 2024, including high-level representatives such as the Prime Ministers of India and Germany.
The 1992 conference in Seoul marked an important milestone in the history of APK and paved the way for the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) in 1993.
As the conference returns to Seoul for the third time in its 19th edition, following previous editions in 1992 and 2007, it continues a long-standing tradition of strengthening economic ties and fostering dialogue between Germany and the dynamic economies of the Asia-Pacific region.
Building on four decades of cooperation and exchange, APK 2026 will once again provide a unique platform for business leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to address shared opportunities and challenges in an increasingly interconnected world.
