In 2021, while researching another project, I stumbled across news clippings about a young woman who poisoned a handful of elderly men in Cincinnati during the Great Depression and took their money. I thought it was fascinating. I made some notes, filed them away, and moved on to the other projects I had in front of me. But I never stopped thinking about Anna Hahn. The more I thought about the case, the wilder the story seemed. Anna was a doting mother who was also a calculating, cold-blooded killer. Her story had everything—murder, money, betrayal, sensational headlines, courtroom drama, and crimes that shocked the country. Finally, in 2024, I decided I had to do something with it and began really digging into Anna's life and crimes. Today, I'm excited to officially release my newest book, Arsenic Anna, the story of Anna Marie Hahn, the first woman executed by the State of Ohio. This is one of those true stories where every time you think it can't get any crazier, it does. There are so many twists and turns that Hollywood couldn't make it up.
