Uba Sani Aides Assembly Commends Governor Over Scale, Quality and Spread of Infrastructure Across Kaduna, Pledges Statewide Awareness Campaign
The Uba Sani Aides Assembly (USAA), a forum of Technical Assistants, Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants to the Governor, has commended His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, for delivering infrastructure renewal on a scale, quality and spread never before seen in the history of Kaduna State.
The commendation followed the Assembly's tour of three flagship projects in Kaduna metropolis: the Kaduna Modern Inter-State Bus Terminal at Millennium City in Chikun LGA; the Kabala Costain to Aliyu Makama Road and Bridge linking the northern and southern parts of Kaduna City; and the ongoing reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium. The tour was led by the Chairman of the Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Energy.
The Kaduna Modern Inter-State Bus Terminal sits on 18 hectares at Millennium City. It is the largest of its kind in sub-Saharan West Africa, with capacity for 5,000 vehicles. Designed as a modern transport hub with state-of-the-art facilities, it is powered entirely by an independent solar grid, making it efficient, environmentally responsible, and a model for public infrastructure.
The terminal will ease chronic congestion in Kaduna city by diverting inter-state and heavy vehicle movement to Millennium City, reducing travel time, improving safety, and enhancing the passenger experience. It will also create jobs, open commercial opportunities for small businesses and attract investment to Chikun and adjoining communities.
The Assembly noted that the terminal is not a stand-alone project but part of a wider transport vision that includes the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, the planned Light Rail and the modernisation of motor parks across the state.
Speaking at the site, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed said: "This terminal is a statement of vision. Governor Uba Sani is not building for the next election; he is building for the next generation. What we have seen here will change how people travel, trade and do business in Kaduna and across the region.
The Assembly also visited the Kabala to Aliyu Makama Road and Bridge. The strategic corridor had stalled since 2022 due to unpaid contractor certificates, unresolved compensation claims and utility relocation costs. Inherited at about 30 percent completion, Governor Uba Sani settled the outstanding obligations and remobilized contractors to site.
The contractor has now launched 42 of the 56 required beams on the bridge, a section where no work had previously been done. Upon completion, the link will shorten travel time between both sides of the city, relieve pressure on existing routes, improve access to schools, markets, hospitals and workplaces, and revive commercial activity along the Barnawa-Kabala corridor.
The third stop was the historic Ahmadu Bello Stadium. The stadium is being reconstructed and expanded from 16,000 to 33,000 seats, making it the second largest in Nigeria after the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. It will feature a hybrid football pitch and Olympic-standard facilities.
The stadium will remain a national asset, open to national teams, federal sporting programmes and major events. Beyond sports, it is an economic investment that will attract tournaments and visitors, boost hotels, restaurants and transport services, create jobs for youths and restore Kaduna's place as a centre of football and athletics.
The Assembly stressed that these three projects are only a fraction of a larger picture. The administration has initiated 160 new road projects in addition to inherited ones, bringing the total road network under construction to 1,355 kilometres across the 23 LGAs. Both urban and rural communities are benefiting.
