Junaid Hafeez is innocent! Does anyone care? The trial court which convicted Junaid under religious pressure after a prolonged trial spanning 6 years, didn't care. The Lahore High Court which has lingered Junaid's Appeal for 7 years doesn't seem to care. But we, the conscientious citizens do care! We implore the Lahore High Court to remember it's constitutional duty of ensuring "expeditious justice" tomorrow on 22nd September 2026 when it hears Junaid's Appeal. We demand that the Appeal is heard and decided on merits without any further delays. We demand justice. They actually took them from inside Adiala because we had not yet gone to get them released as paper work was not complete! Once again totally illegal to take somebody from inside the jail in this manner but then there has never been due process observed for Imaan and Hadi.

The measure of Pakistan's credibility: 1- Afghan students came for medical studies in Pakistan on a Pakistani government scholarship named after the national poet — the Allama Iqbal Scholarship. They’re in different years of MBBS program. Now they've been refused extensions in visa. What a shame. 2- Meanwhile, Pakistani medical students in Afghan universities are also suffering — not due to the Afghan government but due to the Pakistani government. [Note: they are around 5000. Their annual tuition fee is Rs4-5 million there.] They got admission there after obtaining an NOC from PMDC. Now PMDC has delisted the Afghan institutions from its category of recognised institutions, and students are at the receiving end through no fault of their own. What a shame.

Afghan students, first allowed to get enrolled in medical colleges, are now being asked to leave when they are halfway through their educational journey. It's not only a despicable act, it raises questions on our credibility. Should someone trust us when we set a precedent of backing out from our commitments? Whatever the policy rationale, sending medical students home midway through their degrees, including seven in their final year, makes No sense at all. Pakistan gains nothing by sending them back bitter. Let them complete their degrees &leave with some goodwill for the country that educated them.

KEMU Lahore has expelled 21 Afghan medical students, including seven in their final year. These students did not create political tensions or shape government policy. PM&DC and the government must reconsider this decision and allow them to complete their education. Students should be above politics.
