Why do you run?
This is a question I have faced often over the last six years, and like many, I still recall my first recorded run to stay alive during Covid-19. Over time, this journey has evolved beyond fitness to finding that many people now love running/walking, building a valuable network, and developing meaningful friendships.
However, the most fulfilling part has been the impact on communities and putting purpose behind every step.
We recently donated the proceeds from the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run, held on 17 May 2026, to the 8 implementing partners across the country. This year’s edition raised UGX 700 million, bringing our collective support to UGX 1.6 billion over the last 4 years, and will extend our reach to over 30,000 young people we support to stay in school. Thank you to the over 8,000 runners who participated and partnered in this meaningful cause. This shows that your contribution matters. Together we are changing lives and writing a great story for the next generation.
Beyond the 7 Hills, it's good to see several activities happening in our communities to support different causes.
When the road gets tough, training gets intense, and the hills push your endurance to the limit, having a higher purpose keeps us going.
Once again, who do we run? It’s for such reasons that we put one foot in front of the other.
Keep running, keep moving, keep impacting.
