Well, there goes my hopes for BYU's season. Next man up, yes. But when your star player is out for what amounts to most of the remainder of the regular season, and you have to be perfect if you're BYU... that's all folks!
Sources: No. 8 BYU’s star tailback, LJ Martin, will be out for at least a month with a lower body injury he suffered against TCU. He was the Big 12 offensive player of the year in 2025. He’ll miss four to six weeks, including the home against No. 3 Notre Dame on Oct. 17.

Thankfully BYU did well and will get to learn from a gritty, hard fought game like this. Onto the next one. TCU could've easily won this game and it would've been understandable to a BYU fan. But everyone else wouldn't have cared.
The benefits of a 24 team playoffs. A team can afford a bad, sloppy, injury-riddled game without it ending their season. They can learn, get healthy, and still have something to play for. Conversely, if BYU doesn't figure something out in the second half, season is over.

If last year's team got left out because they lost to a top 5 team, a loss to TCU means they will no longer even be a thought. Notre Dame, Utah, conference title game... none of it matters.

Many of our hearts ache for loved ones who have stepped away from obedience to God’s laws. In our grief, we continuously ponder the whys, hows, and what ifs. We feel we have failed. We preach, teach, and invite—but often to no avail. By divine design, brothers and sisters, everyone must choose for themselves to follow Jesus Christ. I ask you to turn over to Jesus Christ your despair for those wayward souls. We cannot change their hearts, but He can; He is a God of miracles. Our Savior has already paid for the sins and errant choices of all of God’s children, including those for whom you and I grieve. He knows them. He knows their hearts; He loves them. He gave His very life to bring them home, all the way home. By the power of Jesus Christ’s Atonement, there is always a way back! In the vernacular, the Savior says to all who grieve, “I’ve got this!” Never, never, give up on those you love. Remember Jesus Christ is the answer. He is, always has been, and always will be. Trust Him. He’s got this! #GeneralConference

NGL I was skeptical of how Latter-day Saints would react to Elder Christofferson's talk on gambling. But on LDSocial I've just witnessed a flood of Saints spitting their metaphorical tabacco into the fire by deleting their betting apps. Youth of the noble birthright, carry on.

BYU and Utah fans uniting to make fun of Whitt this season has been my favorite part of the college football season so far! 😂
Is Whitt’s contract all guaranteed?

I love this idea of spiritual lift and spiritual sink. We can't see either, but we can most definitely feel it! #ElderKearon #GeneralConference
