“Stay down on the ball” doesn’t mean chop down. It means hold your posture over the plate, keep your head behind the barrel, and stay through the zone. For a hitter with big-time power, that’s how you give the barrel room to work through different pitches instead of rolling them over. @Brooks9McDonald @FullSwingBSB

Let the pitch run into your swing path. Stay behind it, stay loose, and let the barrel work. Good coaching means finding the words that click with each hitter. Sometimes the biggest breakthrough starts with a conversation outside the cage. @BanksTeater

The open 45 drill helps a hitter feel his backside load and work the barrel down and inside the ball. The feeling: “I’m swinging away from my body, not around my body.” Then take it back to a normal stance. Does the move carry over? That’s the real test. @Manning_Amorde1
