I think Shakur Stevenson can silence the critics with fighting a unification bout with Gary Antuanne Russell. Shakur is a little sensitive to criticism,and he sometimes contradicts himself,but I like the fact that he’s active on social media with fans. Just make the fight happen.

We talk a lot about Hall Of Fame when it comes to these fighters today which I despise. Why would they deserve to go in the Hall Of Fame fighting once a year and ducking the best fighters? Keep them out of it. It’s plenty of fighters from the old days that deserve to go in.

Kirkland was a great guy. I met him at a Wembley fight card one night back in 1980. He took the time to chat with me about fighting Colin Jones in a rematch. He was dressed in a sharp suit and was very approachable. R.I.P champ.💥🥊

Very talented who had demons out of the ring he couldn't get over. The Duran win in 1982 was sings of what he could have been.
Kirkland Laing 🥊. “The Gifted One”. People don’t mention this guy much nowadays. Kirkland is one of those supremely talented fighters that could’ve been much better than he became. He’s known for his big upset over Roberto Durán. I think he would’ve been a world champion today.

We judge fighters from the past way differently than we do the fighters today😂. For example,Mike Tyson’s legacy is judged like he was a full grown man,when in actuality he was a kid during his championship reign. He was the same age Abdullah Mason is right now. Just a thought.

We gotta give Mike Tyson a pass for losing to Buster Douglas boxing fam. Him and Bobby Brown were having too much fun with them Japanese women the night before. They say “not to have sex before a fight”. Maybe Mike’s legs were gone 🤷🏾♂️. Those Japanese techniques were too much 🤣.

I don’t have any strong feelings towards Turki Alalshikh one way or the other. My opinion is if the promoters were doing what they were supposed to do,it would be no Turki Alalshikh in boxing. We already lost our networks HBO/Showtime. Boxing was already a sinking ship anyway.

Mike Tyson was dealing with marital issues and trainer issues at only 22 years old. A lot on the plate of someone that young. The wildest story is him partying with a large group of Japanese women the night before the Buster Douglas fight 😂😂. Mike was a wild guy.
