Today’s is the beginning of the great lock-in.🎊 Wanting to lock in is the easy part.
Here’s what will actually make the next four months count:
1: Have a clear goal: Know exactly what you want to achieve and why it matters to you. Instead of saying “I want to do better this month”, be specific I.e get a job, finish a course, grow your business, complete your portfolio or save a certain amount
2. Make a plan: Knowing what you want is only the beginning; break down the goal down into smaller actions you can actually take each week
If your goal is to get a job, that could mean sending five quality applications, reaching out to three people and spending time improving your portfolio every week.
3. Create some structure : You don't have to plan every minute of your day, but you need some kind of system that helps you stay on track. Decide when you'll work on your goals, what you'll prioritise and what needs to get done first…the less time you spend wondering “what should I do today?”, the more time you can spend actually doing it.
4. Stay disciplined: You will not feel motivated every day and that's normal. There will be days when you would rather scroll, sleep or do literally anything else.
Discipline is being able to keep the commitment you made to yourself even when the excitement has worn off
You don't have to do everything every day , you just need to keep moving
5. Track your progress : Don't spend months working towards something without checking if you're actually getting closer.
Track what you've done, what you've achieved, what's working and where you're falling behind. It also helps you see progress you might otherwise overlook and makes it easier to change your approach when something isn't working
Make sure you're actually locked in on the right things because being busy isn't the same as making progress. Be sure you’re spending your time on what’s moving you closer to your goals.
Welcome to September 💜
