Apu was originally an illegal immigrant who went to America seeking a better life. In last night's anituber audits, we covered a video trying to argue tourists weren't an issue, mostly because "no one can agree what it even means so it means nothing," but they ultimately concluded gatekeeping was good.
The thing is, they didn't do the typical "we need to gatekeep the gatekeepers" that would be too predictable. Instead the new argument is that people who like lewd anime girls aren't real fans and that gooners who like ecchi content need to be gatekept cause they're "twisting anime" from what it really is.
I don't doubt we'll see this argument more in the future. Trying to argue that anime staples aren't actually apart of anime and people who like them are ruining "true" anime.
He also calls people like HeroHei and ChibiReviews grifters but then defends "The Anime Men" as real fans, somehow.
His biggest argument is a made up term by French psychologists 50+ years ago in a paper about social upheaval in France. Completely random BS pretty much.

Well no, the idea is that there wouldn’t be shops owned by large corporations in the first place. We’d have farmers and they would provide us with food, carpenters to build houses, doctors to treat sicknesses and injury, etc.
