I’m launching a weekly auction format directly on X.
How it works:
1️⃣ I post a domain for auction.
2️⃣ Anyone can bid by replying to the auction post.
3️⃣ Each new bid must be higher than the current highest bid.
4️⃣ Minimum bid increments:
Under $100 → +$10
$100–$299 → +$50
$300+ → +$100
5️⃣ The first valid bid at the final price wins — no editing or deleting bids after being outbid.
6️⃣ Auctions will have a clearly stated closing time. Bids posted after the closing time won’t count.

💡 Today’s Domaining Tip 💡
Today, after a long day, I was running behind these 20-year-old guys, trying to catch their pace.
Then I realized something:
They had just started their 1st km. They are 18 years less old the me and I had already done 7 km.
Don’t compare your pace to someone else’s race.
In domaining, it’s easy to see a $100K sale, a big portfolio, or someone making a killing with a new extension and think: “I should do the same.”
Don’t.
Big sales are data, not instructions.
Other people’s strategies are clues, not your roadmap.
Build your own numbers.
Track your acquisitions, sell-through rate, average sale price, outbound conversion, renewal costs and ROI. Then double down on what actually works for you.
You don’t need to catch someone else.
You need to know how far you’ve already run — and whether your next kilometer is worth running.

Our web site DomainMarket .com has been growing fast; now has about 10M unique viewers per month, after removing all bots and other questionable traffic. This is a dramatic rise since last year after having made many improvements. Check it out.

Domains aren’t just a US game. A lot of domainers forget that.
I’ve shared this before, but look at what’s happening with Lycos.fr.
Lycos.fr was recently auctioned for €35K, (Webexpire, Go back through my X posts if you want to see more expired sites I’ve shared before)
Meanwhile, they’ve been monetizing the brand with names like Lycos.fr/yourwhatever. They may have made far more from the ecosystem than they paid for the domain.
If you’re Gen Z and don’t know Lycos: it was basically an early “Google” and was hugely known in France.
And this morning, It.com announced they surpassed 200,000 registered names.
Their model is interesting because these aren’t traditional domains - they’re subdomains.
That’s the part many domainers still don’t fully understand:
Domains are a much bigger ecosystem than buying and selling domain names.
Subdomains. Brands. Communities. Platforms. Monetization. Distribution.
Sometimes entrepreneurs see opportunities in domains that domainers completely miss.
Think outside the box.

My son, 9 years old.
It was 9 PM. After a crazy day, I put on my running shoes and got ready to go for a run.
He looked at me and said:

That moment reminded me of something very important:
Children don't learn from what you tell them. They learn from what they see you do.
Be the example you want your children to follow.
You don't need to give them endless speeches about discipline, hard work, or resilience.
Let them see you do it.
Let them see you get up when you're tired.
Let them see you work when nobody is watching.
Let them see you choose the difficult path when comfort would be easier.
The world is becoming increasingly comfortable.
