A self-conscious bubble of soap, shimmering on in heroic denial.

CausalPipe update ! ๐Ÿš€ Finally shipped a few things Iโ€™ve wanted for ages: - FAS bootstrap edge inclusion probabilities for edge stability quantification and filtering - PySR integration (amazing library by @MilesCranmer) with chainable hill climbing: SEM โ†’ best graph โ†’ PySR, or run PySR directly. - With FAS/KCI โ†’ PySR works nicely for nonlinearities - Cyclic SCM solver for simulation/fit checks - Model selection via pseudolikelihood + MMD^2 Causal discovery has loads of trade-offs, but the workflow feels powerful. Next up: faster PySR hillclimb, longitudinal data, MSM with automated nuisance/weight models for IPTW, IPCW, AIPW. Docs/PyPI: pypi.org/project/causal-pipeโ€ฆ #CausalDiscovery #CausalInference

What extremists like @GillVerd or even LeCun donโ€™t seem to understand is that by politicizing the issue and constantly framing it as an โ€œus vs. themโ€ struggle, they are setting themselves up to lose. Over the next few years, a huge share of the public will become deeply anti-AI if people feel ignored, demeaned, and treated as collateral damage by this narrative. If extremism becomes the only path forward, it will end catastrophically for everyone. Fortunately, people who care more about a smooth transition, and about the safety, dignity, and well-being of citizens, will probably end up taking the lead.
The Doomers made a graph of retweets of pro-AI accounts and presented it as if it were a flow of capital lmfao Absolute ๐Ÿคก show

You either prepare for a post-work society or you donโ€™t, but you canโ€™t escape it. Right now, weโ€™re gently cruising toward post-WWI Germany.

AI psychosis existed only insofar as humans were still useful for coding. Now itโ€™s just plain deskilling ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Simpler, deeper, times.
Albert Einstein's letter to Maria Skล‚odowska Curie, 1911: Prague, 23 November 1911 Highly esteemed Mrs. Curie Do not laugh at me for writing you without having anything sensible to say. But I am so enraged by the base manner in which the public is presently daring to concern itself with you that I absolutely must give vent to this feeling. However, I am convinced that you consistently despise this rabble, whether it obsequiously lavishes respect on you or whether it attempts to satiate its lust for sensationalism! I am impelled to tell you how much I have come to admire your intellect, your drive, and your honesty, and that I consider myself lucky to have made your personal acquaintance in Brussels. Anyone who does not number among these reptiles is certainly happy, now as before, that we have such personages among us as you, and Langevinil too, real people with whom one feels privileged to be in contact. If the rabble continues to occupy itself with you, then simply don't read that hogwash, but rather leave it to the reptile for whom it has been fabricated. With most amicable regards to you, Langevin, and Perrin, yours very truly, A. Einstein P.S. I have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in Planck's radiation field by means of a comical witticism, naturally under the constraint that the structure's motion follows the laws of standard mechanics. My hope that this law is valid in reality is very small, though.

Threaten to seize an allyโ€™s territory, and the consequence should be simple: no new negotiations, no new concessions. Ever. You crossed the line.

The only benchmark that really matters to me for these models is whether, on a Pro account, you can work seriously on a single project for a full week using XHigh or Max without burning all your tokens.
