i am very curious how things work at @openai when it comes to decisions about shipping products, because shipping speed is so fast especially things like, for example, decisions api is @sama just monitoring slack and signs off on things that way? or not involved in approving?

the uk government's official ai guidance tells civil servants to use gemini flash instead of pro, keep prompts short, and not say thank you to it, for the environment i do wonder at which point we forked the road. instead of building and using it to automate the work, we write guidance on how to use less of it we have the attitude of a high school prefect. caring more about the rules than actually doing the work

i predicted the $500 Codex plan 2 weeks ago btw the second they took the $200 ChatGPT Pro plan offline "temporarily" it was clear to me that it was not coming back originally thought $300 but revised upward to $500

yeah ask me anything and i know something about it and more importantly, persistent curiosity your entire life leads you to get really good at satisfying that curiosity quickly in other words: you get extremely efficient at learning things
People high in ADHD traits have an underappreciated advantage. Curiosity.

trying to get non-technical people to use AI at work is a lot like trying to get normal people to use Linux btw

Calling it now: this will be the last time you get a frontier model in your monthly ChatGPT subscription, folks. Enjoy it while it lasts. It'll all be over soon.

That's great! Now can we please have the $200 (or $500) plan back so we can actually use it?

it’s been a great week for growth at the startup I’m building unfortunately, that growth has come at a time when: 1. we haven’t officially launched yet - people are finding us anyway 2. our public website is still outdated and doesn’t say what we actually do now (way more than you’d imagine) 3. we’re mid-rollout of several new core features and have a huge backlog to work through
