Feeling a bit better now, but I still have uncertainties about this. I don't know if I can face my boss now either but I can't miss work tomorrow. We've never had that sort of exchange, but I feel so betrayed by him.
I have the mind to leave this job and I probably should as it's becoming like holding onto a toxic relationship at this point. Thing is, leaving a job is never easy. I could go full time artist again with commissions and/or start up my original content to work my way into finding my niche, but I will probably make less money at first and it could be financially risky. I could also return to this job once the new management is in and the bully has left (as I've been told will do). If he's still there, the new management MIGHT take this seriously and actually fire him, but I can't be so sure.
As much as I'd like to leave this job, every time I do leave it over harassment, it always ends badly. The new job is horrible and I end up coming back only for the process to repeat. This bully has gotten away with his mistreatment of me for too long and has been rewarded by my boss by keeping his job. He needs to be taught a lesson and I fear my boss does too. I didn't want to have to put my boss in this situation, but my lawyer speaks like he's more guilty and also needs to be taught a lesson. It's highly unprofessional and will not look good to the new owners who are taking over in the months to come. I'm at least going to stick with the criminal charges agains the bully while speaking to the county detective as I've been advised. I'm starting to even wonder if I should sue, though that will be costly and I'm going to try going cost-free as much as possible here.
I feel bad that I got so upset in front of my boss, but again, he's failed me. Our families have been close for decades and I'd hate to drive a wedge between us, but I've been wronged and abused for too long and I'm not going to be pushed around anymore.
Just crashed out in front of my boss. I told him i was filing harassment charges against this bully coworker that鈥檚 been giving me trouble for years (including sexual harassment) and he still keeps giving excuses as to why he wants to keep him. I tried to tell him how letting this guy go will not make things worse and that鈥檚 firing him is the only option, but then I just broke down and stormed out while crying.
Gonna try getting in contact with my lawyer and get this sorted out. Pray for me because I have no idea what鈥檚 going to happen.
