Leibniz, van Inwagen, Allison, Paul, and Jesus. I post things I find interesting, and do not necessarily endorse.

That Paul corrupted Christianity is the flat earth theory of New Testament Studies
Is substance dualism the flat earth theory of metaphysics?

Can someone give me the super-duper easy problem of consciousness? Maybe I can solve that one at least.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Drawing far-reaching inferences from dissimilarity is problematic since the widespread early beliefs of a community is evidence about the ultimate origin of that community (i.e the teacher Jesus). Those beliefs are more expected on the hypothesis that Jesus gave rise to them. 1/8

Another obvious issue with dissimilarity is that ultimately the saying in question was preserved by the community to which it is dissimilar. But if it was so dissimilar, then how come the community preserved that saying (while they allegedly invented sayings to the contrary)? 7/8

Ultimately, we must privilege those aspects and themes of the Jesus-tradition that are recurrently attested throughout our sources. Rather than attempting a pseudo-archaeological task of under-covering the specific "authentic" words of Jesus through problematic criteria. 8/8

Out of curiosity, I watched some of the dialogue between Boyce, IP, and Deen to see what polemicists are saying about the son of man. All three are incompetent about the topics discussed (e.g. the SP). Boyce's hypothesis doesn't make sense, and Deen is uninformed when he says

Markan priority. Later on, Boyce blunders when he says that oracles (logia) just means teachings. That's not the case. As Carlson writes in his book , “in early Hellenistic Judaism and Christianity it has reference to the words of the Lord God (LXX)...”

One could go on and on about silly errors these people make (that competent people wouldn't make). The point is, don't get your information from apologists.
