Higher education is facing the biggest crisis in living memory.
Tens of thousands of UCU members have lost their jobs. Courses are closing across the UK. Staff are being outsourced onto lower pay, weaker pensions and inferior conditions.

Anyone who was anybody at the ANU was 'plotting' to remove Bell by July 2025 because they considered that result a precondition for saving the furniture. If Brown played a role, my compliments to her. Put her name in gold lettering on an honours board.

It's time that Alison Kitchen, Rob Whitfield, Larry Marshall and others faced accountability for their part in Renew ANU.
Over two years, @ourANU overestimated their deficits by $125m - and sacked hundreds.
In 2024, they overestimated the deficit by $60m. Now, @NTEUnion has found they overestimated it by $65m in 2025 too.

We need more elected staff and students in university governing boards. The experiment with corporate governance structures has failed staff, students and the communities serviced by our public universities. We need to return to collegial governance.
NTEU members in the ACT supported by many more around the country have fought so long to expose the governance crisis at the ANU. We have achieved so much but I am still shocked by some of what is still being revealed about Bell and Bishop’s tenure.
